Where does this leave Jerry?

When we've been struggling this year so far, we're getting more aerial. Jerry needs through balls or someone else to feed off, we're struggling for either.

Shayne's in the same boat, but this is about J.

20s made a point on another thread about our need for an attacking mid. That player would make the through passes he's going to thrive on. Do we have that player here already? Carey, TJ, Dale, move Josh Bowler central so yes we do, just to work out how to incorporate it into the team.

No, not worried
He's had little or no service (same for other forwards), but there's so much more to his game than being a striker. His closing down of opposition defences means they have less time to make a pass into MF. I lost count in the home games of how many times he forced defenders to pass back. Great player who Defends from the front. The goals will come. I'll be happier when Madine partners him up front though.

Worth giving Carey a try. JJ just isn't up to it and Dale looks unlikely to be playing anytime soon. Bowler doesn't have a final ball.

In a squad building confidence, playing for a decent manager, ready for the next game when picked in the eleven👍🍊⚽

Unless you put him with a decent number 10 might as well not play him.
Thank God Madine is starting to feature put them together and Jerry will score goals you have to play to someone's strengths and as loan striker or with the wrong person he doesn't work.

Jerry will come through. He's working hard and chances will come. I think Big Gaz coming on made a differenc today too. He hgave them something to worry about. Let's hope his fitness holds out.

Jerry Yates will be the Brett Ormerod of the NEW BFC

He will decide when to score and when he does REMEMBER his name and mine

We don’t sing a song about him for nowt - He IS a top player

X

A lot of games to play every player will be needed at some point, Jerry is a player who contributes alot to the tangerines even if he doesn't find the back of the net.

Ow do 62. Glad you ve survived covid, Brexit, general infirmity etc to bring your wit n wisdom to the new season.
Contrary to ooh... Some of your posts, I'm in full agreement with you on this one. One of us must be losing our grip 😁

My word this is all too much for me 😂

Nah, we love the guy, we need to be chanting his name and building him up, he's getting half chances , working hard, getting in the right positions, just needs a goal but even if he doesn't score 90% of the time having him in the team is a plus.

Anyone else getting a bit worried he's being left behind this season?
Yes it has crossed my mind, but we shouldn't jump to conclusions too quickly. With the right service I'm hopeful that he can turn things around. At the moment we look short up front but that might change with Madine returning then there's Simms in January. Who knows?

He's a great team player. I do think some of our fans were getting carried away during the close season with their over valuation of his worth and the Championship is a big step up for all our players. Both him and Lavery are feeding off scraps at the moment and neither of the are getting clear cut chances and that's why we need that creative midfield player in order to get the best out of them. But he's a good player and when we get things fully right, he'll come good for us.

Clarke-Harris at Posh hasn't scored from open play either yet and Josh Magennis at Hull scored on the opening game of the season and hasn't since.

Clearly there's a massive step up from L1 to Championship......Yates's hard work will bring him chances and goals....eventually!
