Who’s confident Evatt can turn things around

I'm confident that he'll be the best chance we've got, to get performances and playing far better, more confidently, less fear, better setup etc and with better performances results should follow. Can never guarantee anything but you can certainly stack the odds more in our favour.

No matter which players are available, I can't imagine Evo allowing a performance like we had against Wimbledon. Even if we only had the youth team players available.

I’m hoping he shows them countless videos of how we played in the Holloway period, gives entertaining team talks and generally lightens the atmosphere so that the players want to be here and rise to the challenge cos there’s a lot of work to be done.

At the risk of being a killjoy, I think some are getting carried away and are too quick to dismiss our current predicament.
I believe Evatt will improve us, and we have what it takes to stay up. But I don't think we'll get an instant turnaround. We haven't controlled a single game this season, and most of our best players are injured until after Christmas. I personally think it'll be early new year before we can put any kind of run together. Evatt is going to need significant patience from the fans.
In the short term, I think we should be looking for improvements in fitness and work rate even if results don't come immediately.
Woah! Be careful, that's far too sensible thinking and logical for A.V.F.T.T.!😁

More than confident, I feel it’s guaranteed, I still think playoffs are doable , but we need to start winning asap.
Very optimistic Steve
I'm with previous poster in that he's going to need time and we have to wait for players to come back from injuries
I do think we will improve and can forget any doubts re relegation but play off talk ....giddy kippers springs to mind.
Hope you're right

The key to me is not to think of the play offs, but think of the next 3 games. Then the next 3 and the next 3 and take it from there once you see where they take you.

We'll just have to wait and see how the next 9 games unfold, then. Assuming my somewhat archaic arithmatic is upto scratch, that is...

How quickly we can get players back and the next 5 games are crucial - all bar Cardiff (and who knows with this league!) are winnable but more importantly 6 pointers (although as Steve McMahon used to say 'show me a game where you can win 6 points!)

My view is we need to stick with Evatt whatever happens, even if we go down. We have had enough manager churn over the last few years. He is a good manager and, given time, he will assemble a squad and style of playing which will lead to upward progression. This is the case, even if we are relegated this year with this crappy team he has been landed with.

Not expecting miracles overnight, the team have been ‘coached’ a certain way and our injury situation is beyond awful but I expect Evo to get us out of the relegation zone by year end and as we get players back the aim is to get as far up the league table as possible, mid table would be satisfactory this season after this start!

The horrific injury list is such a problem for him. If he came in with just two or three key players out, then I'm sure he'd get the new manager bounce. It's going to be tough, and we need just a bit of luck where we convert those half chances and go one or two up in games which seems like a distant memory!

One of the challenges we will face as fans is inevitably he is going to shift us to a more possession based game. We just won't get Olly part two or at least not for a long time. It's going to watch more like Critch Mk2 and I can almost here the groans as I type as the ball is passed from Evans to the centre backs for 5 solid minutes before someone strides forward or turns.

In our predicament we probably need to play that way as our fitness is awful and we cannot possibly hare around like Critch Mk1 nor do we have a Jerry, Kev and Kenny or even a George Honeyman right now.

I said I feared relegation for the first time versus Wimbledon. I'm feeling confident again that come Dec & Jan we can start to turn wins and climb up the table.

One big advantage Evo has over the likes of Bruce is that he knows this league well. The players are obviously not his choice but let’s hope he can win them over and get the best out of them cos I don’t think any of them lack ability, just motivation.
Best way to motivate them is to play the recording of Bruce saying the transfers cost him the job, not his shit tactics.
If the players have anything about them they will want to ram that statement down his throat by giving us the performances we, as fans, think they are capable of

I'm more or less of an age where I've seen it all. Any appointment now appears to be a lottery so I'll back whoever is currently running things and hope we have some success until the inevitable scenario of events going wrong again on the pitch and fans turning on him.

He is throwing down the gauntlet early doors for some of the team to be future legends, and not making it all about him

Definitely the right way to look at it. Reminds me of when Critch used to claim he didn’t look or know where we were in the table when we were creeping into the playoffs 😂
