Who else tested positive on here and what symptoms?

Got a positive test result today after partner getting symptoms and testing positive on the weekend - maybe inevitable with us both working in schools.
So far bad headaches, temperature, aching and rashes. Diarrhoea seems to be the latest thing. No loss of smell or continuous cough.
Who else has tested positive in the AVFTT world and what symptoms have you had? I’ve seen a few on different threads now.

Hope you both recover soon. My mate never had a temperature, but bad headache and lost sense of smell.

Our son and daughter tested positive on 29th Dec after we had a family of 4 come round on Christmas day.
At least one of them had it but they were asymptomatic
Me and Mrs Dave tested negative, but of course we still had to isolate until 8th January.

My son had a cough and loss of smell, but was otherwise fine (he had a test because of the cough)
My daughter felt slightly unwell with sinus trouble (she gets this even with a cold so no surprise there), but otherwise OK. She has since returned to work as a "crisis responder" in mental health (Preston) because she is a front line worker like yourself.
But we're not taking any chances because we're now also caring for the mother in law who is in poor health.
So our lass is living in the annex, which we had intended to put the old girl in.

Hope you and your family are OK. Just rest and drink plenty of water like my kids did
All the best

Take care JBPS hope you have a swift recovery.

My partner tested positive and her symptoms were a continuous cough and feeling crap in general but that’s as bad as it got for her thankfully.

I felt pretty crap for a day or two as well during isolation but none of the main symptoms but my test came back negative which still baffles me how she could have had it but I didn’t.

My son and his girlfriend have just recovered. My son had a cough and a loss of smell but his girlfriend was rough for about 5 days . Their two year old daughter’s test came back negative.

Yep, strange, I had a test on Sunday morning after my partner got positive result, she had symptoms from Saturday morning. I got a negative back Sunday night, but didn’t feel quite right. Positive three days later.

It ranged in our house from

my 11 year old having a nasal douche and quite a pronounced vital rash,

15 year old daughter had/has a loss of smell, but can still taste (I think it's the 6 flavour senses, rather than what we would call taste)

17 year old was rough and had the stomach cramps and a stabbing sensation in the abdomen.

MrsTSS just felt yuk, and

I felt detached from my thoughts and yuk

Fortunately there was none of the breathing difficulties.

Given how relatively mild we had it, I'm hoping we all get a jab quickly so we don't get a second nasty dose of it.

Meanwhile, stay well and look after yourself.

PR3... What type of tests have you had?
My wife tests negative 3 times a week ( nasal/throat swab) .. But she tested positive when she did the Anti body test a few months back... She must have had it in the first wave...she is now Vaccinated. She must still swab 3 times a week..... Always negative.

Both were the nasal/throat swab did them the same day. To be fair a professional did hers at the hospital drive in test area and I did mine myself at a drive thru clinic so maybe I wasn’t thorough enough as it’s a pretty grim experience isn’t it 😂

My missus is a nurse so is now also doing regular testing at home and so far it’s always negative & hopefully remains that way!

I tested positive on 29th December. Prior to that bit of a headache, more tired than usual and just not 100%. Put it down to a change of hours and extra overtime at Christmas. Eldest daughter and family all tested positive had seen them Christmas day, they had been to drop and pick up gifts. Me being a miserable old sod was keeping an arms length and telling the grandkids to stay well back. Mrs. Seasider was hugging and kissing everybody. You guessed it when track and trace got in touch had test and I was the only one out of all the families they been in contact with tested positive. Isolation for ten 10 days and only six days in did I really feel aches and pains and extremely tired, actually slept right through for 2 days.
Anyway that was it, so feel very grateful only had the mildest of the virus, no classic symptoms whatsoever. Couple of others at work caught it one in November ended up in ICU at home now but not sure if he will return. His age 62, another early 50's in a bad way with long covid, I'm 58 and once again feel I have dodged a bullet.

My wife, a nurse in a care home, tested positive last May and was very poorly and off work for 6 weeks. Just about avoided hospital. Her cough and breathing trouble took the best part of 3 months to clear up. Thankfully, she is ok and had her first vaccination last December. They are now tested every week at work.
Not sure how I managed to avoid it, although I was very ill with a bad cough, headache etc and in bed for a few days in early March with what I could only call a mystery bug at the time!

I had dizziness, headache, fatigue. Four days of hyper sensitive skin, three days loss of smell and a couple days with aching legs.
Mrs had cough, lack of smell, fatigue
10 month old had a rash and looked like he was teething.
Symptoms mostly cleared up after two weeks, it the fatigue kept reappearing on random days for about another three weeks.
I got a cold about 5 weeks after that hit my harder than usual, but we’ve all been back to normal for about three weeks.

I received my positive test this morning.
I can smell and taste fine although the first sign thinking about it was that I had a beer and glass of wine on Sunday and didn’t enjoy either which I thought very odd.

It is a feeling of weariness, frequent shivers and a developing cough.

Stay safe all

I was tested positive yesterday
Up to now symptoms have been similar to a heavy cold with an annoying cough

Hope you both feel better soon and it stays mild.

You may have seen my Covid journey on a thread here last month. Thankfully it was really dull as myself and my partner, who caught it off my eldest lad who is a mental health nurse had it when we saw him and his younger brother and his girlfriend and we all had a hug at the end of the outdoor meeting.

Myself and my partner both had really minor symptoms, my main one was being very tired for over 2 weeks but never had a fever, lost sense of taste and smell for 3 or 4 days and had a minor cough and really would have thought it was a minor cold if I hadn't known. The worst thing was waiting for it to really kick in and make us really ill as that is what you hear about so much, thankfully that never happened. I am fully recovered now nd would say it took 4 weeks to get over the tiredness fully.

my partner had even less symptom wise and my son who transmitted it felt a bit rough for a week, fever, cough etc., my youngest son and his girlfriend were both quite ill for 2 weeks, high fever, bad headaches, extreme fatigue, cough (minor) but everyone are now fully over it.

Get well soon!! Keep us updated.

Look after yourself and just rest and drink plenty of (non alcoholic!!) fluids. Like the others, keep us updated.

My main symptoms seem to have eased a bit today. But I’ve now lost my sense of smell but sense of taste is ok. And now my legs are aching quite badly. Weird virus 🤔

Yep weird - today my head has been better but I’ve been dizzy, knackered and felt sickly, along with more diarrhoea. Coughing up phlegm now which I take as a good thing.

I live in the SE, two members of my family caught the new fast transmitting variant of Covid but thankfully only had minor symptoms and after 10 days of quarantine they returned to work as a teacher and a Care worker. They can’t be tested again now for 90 days and can’t have the Vaccination for 4 weeks. The rest of the family all self isolated and so far nobody has been infected.

How are you doing today you guys who have Covid ?
Managed to get up and have a shower and thought I was a bit better, been on the couch since, now feeling rough as I did yesterday and ready for bed. The other half hasn’t got out of bed and is worse than me. She’s now had symptoms since Saturday and a week later isn’t any better yet.

Oh blimey. I think you can feel better and then worse again with it.
I’d just keep on doing nothing for a few more days at least Junior. Your other half sound like she’s going through the mill with it 😩 do nothing, just rest and sure you will turn a corner soon , both of you 🙏

Good point. My lad was (and is) OK.
But after feeling fine for a few days, he went for a run
He's OK but he was sick after coming back from the run.
He's decided to take it easy for a few days before trying again.
He's 25, so don't worry too much about still feeling a bit rough.
All the best mate

I’m feeling quite a bit better today Lala
First day I’ve been able to say that
Cough and temperature improving but still feeling very fatigued and tired. Also quite painful aches particularly in my back and legs which kept me awake for a while last night
But overall moving in the right direction

That sounds promising Rusty 👍 I’d still take it very easy for now though. Glad you’re feeling a bit better 😊

Keep us updated guys..... keep resting, plenty of fluids and eat if you can.

I am back working, but because it is a physical job I am absolutely knackered when I get home, far more than pre-covid so the tiredness still lingers 5 weeks after getting it.

I’ve got a mate (mid fifties) who had COVID back in March and he said one of the symptoms was aching legs. It does seem to be a very strange illness with odd symptoms for some. Anyway, good to hear you’re on the mend.

Thanks Lala - she seems slightly better this morning which fingers crossed continues.
I’ve woken up with high temperature, feeling nauseous and dizzy, similar to first day or two. It certainly keeps giving, today is day 5 for me, day 8 for her.

Keep fighting guys, I was having paracetamol every 4hrs to combat the high temperatures. For me it was lack of sleep due to the cough and inability to breathe properly.

I saw massive improvement after day 8 and was able to sleep, then gradually got better. That was back in April and it’s still affecting me now, my lungs when I wake sound like a 1970’s Ford car trying to start on a cold morning.

Fingers crossed for you all.

Hope everyone effected recovers quickly and back to full health

My whole family had it back in October

We had pretty much all the symptoms as listed in posts above, so i'll just list what hasn't been mentioned

(1) I had pins and needles and aching in my left arm
(2) my right nostril felt like it was on fire for about 3 days
(3) my vision was effected in my right eye

i'll also mention it effected me mentally , i think it was fear of the unknown and worrying as to what it was
doing to our bodies and if there would be any long term effects. Thankfully we have all fully recovered

A lot of people (especially long-Covid sufferers) find the recovery pattern is like being on a rollercoaster. You start to feel like you are 90% better, then push yourself a bit more, but get knocked back down with an adverse reaction if you over do it. Try not to do too much, too soon. If you were always healthy before, you will find that frustrating.

Eat well, drink well, sleep well and take in natural, fresh ingredients like mint and ginger which are anti-inflammatories in case your body has gone into overdrive and is attacking itself.

I've woken up this morning after sleeping for 11 hours solid (I never sleep that long) feeling ok but with very little appetite. Forced myself to make some scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast. I might as well have eaten a plate of cardboard! My sense of taste appears to have gone the same way as my sense of smell. What a strange virus. Apart from that all the other symptoms seem to be easing

It sounds like you’ve fought off the worst of it Rusty, well done. Keep resting and hopefully you’re turning a corner 👍

Good to hear Rusty. I had to take my partner to hospital this morning after her oxygen levels dropped too low -111 were wanting to send an ambulance. She’s back home now after tests and some oxygen, has pleurisy but no lung infection. Hospital said she’s safer at home. My symptoms are still the same - really ready for things to start improving now!

That’s scary JBPS. Glad she’s back home.

It is so strange how it affects different people in different ways. My senses of smell and taste are completely unaffected and so is my appetite!

A tip for anyone for increasing oxygen levels,is breathe through nose and whistle breath out.
Hope all turns out well for everyone affected on here.

That must have been scary! Hope she's ok and you're both on the mend quickly. It really is a ** of a virus isn't it. Roll on the vaccine.

Me, Mrs Northstand and the kids all had it at the start of December. Partner had a bad headache and cold symptoms for a few days. I originally thought it was tonsillitis as the symptoms were similar with a fever and bad sore throat but then i lost my smell and i knew it was covid. I was up and down for about 2 weeks. Smell has still not returned. The worst symptom was the foggy brain, i knew i had work to do but could not engage my brain to work, it was the strangest sensation and set me back more than anything.

It was no worse than the flu and having it hasn't changed my outlook on the pandemic, of which i'm fairly outspoken. But to all that has had it i of course wish a speedy recovery.

That does sound scary Junior 🥴 as others have said let’s hope recovery starts very soon for you and the Mrs ❤️

The thing that's really scary is that the hospital said she'd be safer at home!!
Take it easy, and everyone who currently has the virus a speedy recovery 👍🏻
