Who else

For a mid table Div 1club the options are:
Successful Div 2 manager. Wellens might be obvious choice of Artell but who would uproot and leave a club at top of table this time in season.
Someone with success in lower leagues but mixed record above that ie Jones or Heckinbottom
Unknown Spaniard or German but have we got connections to find a good un?
Gamble on non league manager is Evatt. I can see why some want him but would be big gamble and being a former player is just sentimental reasoning

So if not Heckinbottom or Jones who else? Look at the odds there are no other realistic contenders.

The ironic thing is that both Wellens and Artell are practically in the same position as Evatt only a league higher. They seem to be going for experienced rather than proven although ironically even Jones and Heckingbottom only have 3 years on their CVs. Am not sure they know what they want tbh.

I think that is the problem. The failure of Grayson will have had an impact on Sadler. I'm not sure there is anyone out there that is available that ticks the boxes, although rumour has it Jones has been offered the job but is still thinking it over. If that's the case, he isn't the manager we want and I think he would have accepted the offer by now which puts them back to square one. To not hold interviews and dismiss some managers outright seems very strange, again, maybe it was because they thought they had their man.

For me, it would be better to get a caretaker manager in who actually wants the gig till the end of the season and either tie up a deal with someone ready for the start of the summer, i.e. Evo, Wellens or Lowe or wait and see who is available at the end of the season.

I am staggered that they have dismissed Evatt and think that shows a lack of foresight on their part, they are beginning to look a bit like rabbits in the headlights.
