Had a 1973 blue 1600XL back in the day. Great car but a bit of a rust box had to put a large GB sticker on the boot to cover the hole when I came to sell it.
 
No but four of us went to the 1978 Reading Festival in my mate's green 1.6. Thin Lizzy were supposed to be on but Phil Lynott was having one of his drug addled periods. We got stuck with the Scorpions instead 😬
Motorhead, the Police and the Tourists on the Sunday night though 👍
 
Yes I had a 1.3 Capri and hammered it to get to Mansfield, got there just in time for kick off. It was a lovely day when we set off from the Gold Coast only to arrive in a snowstorm !!
 
Had four in total, first was bought in 1972 a 2.0 litre GT XLR, Bronze with black bonnet, black roof and seals, second was a 1977 2..0 S, in Silver and black, third was a 3.0 Ghia auot in met.red and lastly a 2.0 laser in white which I drove to Greece and back when Yugoslavia existed and the roads south of Belgrade were shall we say bloody awful.
I sort of carried on the tradition with a Ford Probe, but they never roused the interest of the British public like the old capris did.
 
Had a red 1.6. Looked a lot faster than it was. Somewhat twitchy on the motorway in a side wind, and I always carried a hammer in the boot to belt the starter motor when it jammed (That's when it was dry, wouldn't start in the wet).

Loved that car.
 
Learnt to drive in one with Geoff Drinkwater from St Annes. A yellow and black one but never actually got to own one. Had the Escort, 3 x Mondeo, 3 x S Max, Galaxy and now drive a Kuga. Until now never realised I had had so many Fords!
 
I used to work for Ford. The Capri was always a popular car but you had to face the fact that it was basically a rebodied Cortina.

The old 3.0 Litre Essex engined ones were brilliant and they were replaced by the 2.8 litre Cologne engines.
 
ive had 5 in the past got my first when when i was about 19, the insurance was ridiculous and it was only a 1.6. saw an ad for one the other 30K.

I had a few over the years culminating in a blue 2 litre S

I thought I was the dogs dangly bits 🤪🤪

Great times and wish I still had it as they are worth a few quid

Moved on to an XR3 and then a gun metal grey RS Turbo ( that was a car ) until it got nicked 😩😩
 
First car I bought was a 2.0S in silver from Thomas Motors at Oxford Square. Would have been around 1984. A beautiful motor.
