Tough one. Haven't seen the official verdict, but I reckon Gabriel again? The ridiculous commentators were creaming their knickers about Simms; yeah he did well but there's loads more to come. The two centre backs literally had nothing really to do and our centre midfielders were coasting. Sulley was good first half and Ward did well too. Yates worked hard and took his penalties (ahem) well.

Maxwell....... he exudes confidence from the back 👍🏼

I thought Simms as he set the tone for the game by causing loads of problems up front but can understand Gabriel. Will probably get a game off soon for Turton as they try to manage the fixtures but he's had a good run since January. Looks in control.

I think if he's signed a new contract and been sent out on loan to league one (and league two last season) then they see him as a long term replacement option for Matty Cash. So he'll be back with them for pre-season and for Chris Hughton to have a look at. They've also got Jayden Richardson who we were linked with when they were having second thoughts about allowing Jordan Gabriel to go out before they sorted out cover. He went to Forest Green so is a year behind Gabriel.

Angel Gabriel. He ran the show. Best full back performance down the right since Seamus Coleman
That’s some praise given the first couple of games when the jury was out! But, and big but, if he can keep this level of performance up then the lad has a very big future in front of him. Trouble is, when he returns to Forest, will he be offered the chance to flower or will he end up as just another number in the back-up squad.

Maybe the lad himself is bright enough to recognise that at Blackpool he will be first choice and not third or fourth at Forest?

Stuart continues to look composed but Gabriel had a good game along with Yates & Simms & as a team we are starting to look solid. If I had to pick 1 out it would be a close call but Gabriel edges it.

We now look as if we have good reliable cover in our squad for every position on the pitch. This could be crucial with more games left to play than any other team in League One.

I'd hate Gabriel if he wasn't playing for us. Wins loads of iffy free kicks when the opposition are looking dangerous & has wonderful knack of getting his body between player & ball then comes that tiny nudge.
Great going forward as well.

Back four solid, Gabriel a stand out. Stewart did a lot of unnoticed work, kept possession well, tackled well he’s a top, top signing. KaiKai and Ward gave us good balance, brilliant ball by Sullay for our first. Yates tireless again, two well taken penalties a just reward. But Simms made the run and was fouled for the first, held the ball up and found the right pass for the second as well as generally just being a handful all afternoon.

Another for Simms.

Strangely I would go Thorniley. No idea he was playing, could have spat his dummy, held firm in defence and another clean sheet.

On no way should we be letting thorniley go. he has stepped up brilliantly and given the head coach something to think about.
