Staggering that Hartlepool is to turn Tory.

2015 the steel works were closed down in Redcar and Hartlepool. A few years later the red wall is now blue.

Starmer won’t last the year.

Andy Burnham what a shame you are not a a member of parliament.

Andy Burnham is killing Manchester and tried to play politics with Covid which backfired.
Bringing in a congestion charge too. Folly at best.

Looking at my latest council tax Bill the mayoral precept was increased massively. Probably to fund turning us into another London.

It ain't no big surprise to anyone that hartlepool will go tory as the Brexit party won't be there, and they are mad for it

West Yorkshire is voting for a mayor today. I just hope whoever wins, and I'm sure the Labour candidate will, looks at the situation in Bradford, where the Labour Council have decided to build an incinerator in the Aire Valley at Keighley, which, with westerly winds will send any subsequent pollution Up the valley to Bingley, Shipley and parts of Bradford.

Add to that, they are going to build a Duel Carriageway along the lowest part of the area, Canal Road, to alleviate traffic problems in Bradford. This will end at Shipley, which is already congested, add to the pollution in our area funnelling traffic past an area where a junior school is situated and has one of the highest pollution scores in the Bradford area.

Add to that they are introducing a clean air tax on vehicles in the same area to 'cut polluting vehicles from using the area' £50 a day for lorries, buses etc, £20 a day for taxis and delivery vans etc at the same time as Leeds is dropping its plans for such a zone.

Add to that, they are closing one of the main routes through Shipley to cut pollution, which will again encourage motorists to rat run and use the routes past two junior schools. this is to help 'pedestrianise the town centre and encourage people to shop there'. However, the car park is being closed, the toilets have already been closed, a lot of shops have closed, including the ever-expanding charity shops sector and they are putting in school streets, I live on one of them, to encourage pupils and parents to walk or cycle to school. For those that don't know Shipley, it's quite hilly and a difficult bike ride for a lot of older people.

The above reasons are why I will be voting Green.

But do you like them ????

I like their local policies. they are against a lot of what I have written in my original post, and they have therefore now received my vote. It's the way to go, look at policies and if you like them vote for them rather than come hell or high water vote Labour, Conservative or anyone else because you always have done.

That sort of politicking turns me completely off, and I find it rather annoying.

I like Lisa ' Did I mention my constituents in Wigan' Nandy.

She is literate, has personality and invariably talks sense. She also doesn't seem to be a Union puppet or Corbynite.

Starmer is not a politician and comes across as that.

I've chosen Green for my second vote with the transferred vote in operation. When the other options are Labour, Reform Party, Tories, Lib Dems, English Democrats and the Yorkshire Party then I don't see much option.
