Who'll get their chance against Leeds?

Doesn't seem much wiggle room for Critchley but who do we think will get a chance on Wednesday?

Mentioned on another thread. Because there's no game after this till the 21st, i'd consider starting with the same line up or the strongest starting 11. Give them another 45 mins to gel and then make changes to give other players some game time and to rest those who need it.

All depends on fitness of course.

Mentioned elsewhere but would expect to Sims/Fojticek, Mitchell, Howe, Thorniley, Lubala, Kemp, Antwi and Robson involved and if Sarkic and Anderson are sufficiently recovered they may get a few minutes.
I'd love to see Bange, Holmes and Apter in the squad.
There are some limitations though.
Not sure if its 5 from previous game or max 5 changes. include those coming back from suspension and injury, plus a few fringe players,

We have 8 league games in December, so give the first team a good rest.

7.3 Each EFL Club shall play its Full Available Strength in and during all Matches. Full Available Strength means the EFL Club must include at least four Qualifying Players in the ten outfield Players named in the starting eleven on the Team Sheet.

7.4 Qualifying Player means any Player who:

7.4.1 had started the immediately preceding First Team Fixture (as defined below);

7.4.2 subsequently starts the immediately following First Team Fixture;

7.4.3 is in the list of ten Players at the Club with the highest number of starting appearances in First Team Fixtures in the same Season;

7.4.4 has made forty or more starting appearances in First Team Fixtures or international equivalents (and not limited to the same Club or Season); or

7.4.5 is on standard loan from a Premier League Club or any EFL Club operating a Category One Academy.

Seems to be a bit of leeway in team selection depending on who is fit.

Maxwell

Turton-Viking-Thorniley-Mitchell

Kemp-Antwi-Ward-Bez

Sarkic-Bange

In a meaningless cup game three days after our first XI went a full 90 there is absolutely no point in playing more than a couple of players from our best XI.

The important thing now is resting players and getting the whole squad healthy and I think Wednesday could be a good opportunity to bring in some players from the youth team like Bange or Holmes to not only get them time, but to show that there is a path to the first team from the youth academy.

I quite like that but I'd rest Maxwell and replace Turts with Howe.

Understandable, but I had Maxwell and Turton in there in order to fulfill the EFL's rules about how many first XI players were supposed to put in the team.

Maxwell shouldn't be too fatigued from Sunday and I have no problem playing Turton again on Wednesday because he's not our first choice RB, but wouldn't mind seeing Howe get minutes.

Sims
Gabriel Thorniley Greitarsson Mitchell
Ward Robson
Kemp Yates Lubala
Madine

Try and get Antwi and Sarkic on (if fit) at some point.
With no game next weekend I reckon Madine and Yates will be in Critchley's ear to start with the chance of boosting their goal tally.

Think the minimum quota refers to outfield players only.

I'd also like to see Maxwell rested. You'd probably see how Ballard stands alongside either the Viking or Ekpiteta and we have scant options up front and so would probably play Madine or Yates, maybe start Hamilton or Kaikai with a bit of pace and Dougall still needs a bit more game time and so that would be my four.

Fortisomething

Howe Gretarrson Ballard Mitchell

Kemp Robson Dougall Luballa

Ward Yates

Edit to add I'd play Woodburn if he is available probably in place of Luballa and then push Luballa up front inlace of Yates

I know we are just starting to settle with a 442 but I'd like to see us use this as a chance to try 5 at the back in a game that doesn't particularly matter much.

Maxwell

Turton Grettarsson Thorniley

Howe Mitchell

Antwi Robson

Anderson

Kemp
Lubala

I would like to see Benge on the pitch for part of the match to see how he is progressing as Madines contract expires at the end of the season.
