Why is this squad massively underperforming?

Unsure why anyone would think we have a side good enough for the play offs. We are missing leadership and power in the middle, pace upfront and the ability to see games out. I agree we should be higher than 16th but the table doesn't lie.
 
I don't think our squad is as good as some think, in comparison with other league One squads in the top half. . But it could be doing a lot better with better leadership, and the confidence that would bring. Underperforming to some extent, but there are other clubs with squads as good as ours, or better.
 
I think it's a lack of confidence, no defined shape or tactics aside from lump it upto Gnando. Poor man-management and poor leadership from the manager. We have little genuine pace in the team and the opposition have worked us out i.e take Gnando put of the game and there is nothing else. All can be sorted quickly with a forward thinking, progressive and organised manager.
 
We just havent got an identity yet and a plan in the way we want to play.The players arent a team yet,they dont quite know how each other want to play but that will improve with time and in the pre season going into next year.We might have to be patient.
 
I think it's a lack of cohesion and confidence.

The squad/first team has been muddling along for months seemingly not knowing what formation or game plan to work to from one week to the next.
It's not surprising they fold at the first sign of pressure.

I agree the squad is good but other squads are better....more continued investment required.
 
I don't think the players we had and the ones Grayson bought in are as good as we thought. When everything else is going so well at the club it's a shame its been such a downer re the football. Grayson's legacy needs to be washed away and a new attacking philosophy from someone with passion and won't take any shit from any Billy Big Bollocks is essential and any that don't stand up to the fight are binned in the summer.

That's why I think we shouldn't rush this decision as I think evolution is the man to do this.
 
When you think of our Championship promotion team there were no world beaters!What we did was get the best out of them collectively
 
get Evo, Thommo and Charlie in, sort the shit out of them and get the dressing room rocking and loving being at the seaside, there was a real connection between the players and the supporters when Ollie was manager and it was magic. Evo knows that, fuck not enough experience, let's let our hearts rule on this occasion!!

Would not disagree but would they all come ? I'd say very doubtful.

We never boss a game like we used to, and it doesn't seem to matter what quality of opposition.
 
If Thommo was kissing the badge at Preston the other night I’m not sure he would come. Definitely agree with the poster above who noted a lack of pace in the team..... I think Tilt was as quick as anyone but he’s now gone.

We now have some pace in Ronan and Kai Kai when fit but there is a collective lack of it throughout the squad. There are the beginnings of a really good squad and team but it needs building and organising. Expectations need to be managed and it will take time to get to where we want to be, it does feel like a step backward rather than forward this season but sometimes that not a bad thing. Time to reset.

Larry was a shit manager but no ones saying all the players are shit, they are saying that some are not as good as we hoped it's all part of why we are where we are and some of the players aren't going to be here next season. You have to question some of the heart and you certainly have to question the confidence, it's shot to bits.

baffled by that.

The squad it’s self is a patchwork of the last two managers, the previous regime and the current incumbent.

within this hotchpotch I can only see a hand full that are proven at this level with even fewer showing us signs they’re capable of performing week in week out.

We need a long period of stability with one manger for the next few years, building up a strong and capable squad in his own image.

I did think Grayson fitted this bill I was wrong.

The next appointment is critical.

Rovers were also on a worse run than us since their manager left in Dec
We need a passionate manager to get the best out of our players
I'd go Evo but I'm not sure the Club will take the risk which is a pity as I think it could be special

How is it a good squad 4 weeks to the day we lost at Lincoln with ten players starting who where here last season.

You then bring in a load of players which takes time to gel like a pre season which they haven't had.

No it's the same crap team as last year.

I’m leaning towards Evo know too...I’m also not sure it’s necessarily that big a risk.

In any case, I think it would be a risk worth taking, because, as you say TAM, it could be something very special.

Not keen on Evatt personally Newholland, needs more experience IMO. Oh and Mex, I’m quite happy with the new owner, although I hear he’s not too happy with your bumchum 😘
