I think for all of us, from how much we spent, to the anticipation, to what we've seen so far have been disappointed in Dale Taylor and can't imagine the lad has felt much joy in a tangerine shirt yet.
Am hoping he's one that we won't rush back and when he's fully fit give him a couple of weeks to get back in to his stride, learn Evatt's ways and style and then come back when he's really ready to fire on all cylinders.
What we don't need is for him to limp back in to the team out of desperation and not hit the ground running.

Do you not think Evo and the backroom staff will have already thought that through?

In short, yes. Bruce had no idea how to best play to Taylor’s (or anyone’s else’s) strengths.

He’ll be getting the ball passed into his feet with runners off him so I’ve got a funny feeling it will be better than up tops on his jacks getting long balls pumped at him to compete with giant centre-halves or to run and chase down…

Imagine us in League 1, spending 1m+ on a player and not actually having a plan or playing to suit him. Just hope his hammy doesn’t lose that short sharp burst of pace.

Same player used differently, Bruce hadn't got a clue.
Evatt will look at what the player has done before, have a think about what the player can do for the team in the future and then put some work into trying to make it happen.
Bruce would spend somebody elses money, put minimum effort in and then say in that friendly, avuncular way, well thats football sometimes these things dont work out.

Taylor was signed as an investment for the future, not the finished product. He will improve with experience and maturity, and there have already been glimpses of his potential. But it's unreasonable to expect too much at this stage, especially as he'll need to regain match sharpness, which is not a quick process.

I think Evatt will be far more detailed about playing to our players' strengths than Bruce was. Taylor has proven himself in this division - we haven't seen that yet but I think we will.
Wigan fans that I've spoken to praise him for his pressing, hard work ethic and for being a real nuisance to defenders, which will totally suit the way Evatt wants to play.

He played at Wigan,
So Crainey through his contacts will know how to utilise him

For Dale Taylor, see Ryan Hardie.

Evatt has to find ways to use him, he is a good footballer and someone who will get better. Get better quality, with clearer instructions and patterns of player and I think he will score buckets of goals. Especially when Ennis is available.

Yes!! If not just for the fact that we have a manger who wants to press high & create turnovers / get men in the box / all of the things that result in chances in this league.

Its beyond me how Bruce & his merry band of Steve’s ploughed the same old 4-4-2 furrow that resulted in 1 goal scored away (from a set piece) while they were here. Its no surprise he struggled.

I think there's a really good player in him, under Bruce, he never really stood a chance, hopefully Evo will get the best out of him.

'Get better quality, with clearer instructions and patterns of play and I think he will score buckets of goals...'

The next stage after that, is that the club attempts to adopt a similar approach with CJ...'

I thought Bruce got more of a tune out of Carey than any other manager!
Just one of those where, for whatever reason, the manager (SB) felt particularly 'attuned'. to one of the players at his disposal. Now just waiting for someone (anyone!) to forge a similar working relationship with CJ...

Firstly Evo needs to get him playing with a smile on his face, he was the most unhappiest player I’ve seen in a pool shirt, nothing clicked for him
