Work finally underway at the £300m Blackpool Central site

The first phase is just the multi story car park. I know I’ll sound negative, but I’ll only start getting excited when phase 2 starts.
I prey that we do see phase 2, but so far all we’re looking at is another car park.

I think my scepticism stems from the company behind the project being fronted by Erich Von Daniken!

I'm really dubious about this and will be until we see some private money spent.

However, demolishing the courts and police station is long over due, this car park is probably a good modernisation by itself.

Yeah but needed to unlock the next stages, would be very good once all complete so let's take them for their word.

There's a lot of improvements happening around the town so I'm having a little faith 😂

My bet is it will only be the multi storey car park that's rented back to the council. The future other developments will be deemed not viable to construct. It needs to be binned anyway , and look for some decent attractions,. Morecambe got it right with their Eden project type attraction... Not a flying cinema that's already been around for years and is now old technology in other countries and being removed and replaced.

I bet everyone a tenner that only the car park will happen and that the heritage thing was tacked on to make the car park seem a more attractive proposal.

I remember when they were built. My Mum had a boarding house on Coop Street. It was quite a thriving area back then, even the "closing down everything must go" shops were a class better!
