Worrying

The last time we scored was at Derby on 8th August.
The last time we scored in the League was on the opening day 5th August.
In the last two games we have shipped 8 goals against us (Granted 5 were from a premier team).
Our forward line appears to be decimated whilst our midfield play from me, to you, to me, to you ad infinitum.
For us exiles, to add to the poor performances there are more difficulties getting to and from matches due to the rail strikes as per last season.
Being a Blackpool fan for almost 70 years now, (70 years in April), I have seen many ups and downs , been through the mill with some of the owners and managers, boycotted, seen us re-apply for League status and gone through many tough times.
I'm sorry to say last season and the start of this season are up there with some of my worst memories.
If there is a football god, we have obviously completely upset him!

Bar for half an hour against Burton we have been dire,Critchley has signed 10 players O'Donnell,Pennington,Norburn,Morgan,Joseph,Chapman,Weir,Rhodes Kouassi and Oakley Boothe only Rhodes has improved the squad in my opinion.better off buying 4 or 5 quality,he has also been too pig headed to play Turnbull and Apter, biggest worry he believes we've done ok,as the moody blues said GO NOW you failed at villa failed at QPR and your failing at Blackpool

Last nights' result is immaterial to me.
We were on a 'hiding to nothing' anyway.
What matters now is, can we pick up from there???
Can we actually start to get some results?
Lat's hope so.
Problem is, we did get a hiding, and I’ve no confidence that Saturday will be any different. A mate of mine, long term season ticket holder, said to me today that if he hadn’t already bought one, he probably wouldn’t have now. Shocked me because he’s been home and away for years

We're not allowed to have these opinions though, we got rid of the Oystons so everything is perfect, Sadler is the new messiah and Critchley is a brilliant manager, dare not say anything against that.

It is dire, Grayson, Critchley, Appleton, McSaurus ^ Critchley again FFS! What a complete fuck up. Critch was lucky first time round and was found out. Failure at Villa and QPR and now us again yet Sadler couldn't see it coming.

I'm sorry, but we got unlucky when we got a new owner, it happens, it happens to us a lot, so we just have to lump it. Just because he is a supporter and has put his own money in, for which we are all thankful, it doesn't make him a good owner. I feel sorry for the likes of CM, I have a friend who has a season ticket, has for years, he was a massive Sadler fan at the start and Critchley, but he realises he was wrong as have many, yet some think it's the supporters fault!! 😂😂😂😂

This was the game Critch said "let's show them what we are about " So he was taking it quite seriously.

U keep saying he was lucky first time🙄 u talk ** bollocks

Whilst there are some very valid points and opinions here, am I the only one who thinks that something is perhaps being overlooked.

11 new players in (now including Dembele).

Don’t they need time to gel? To get to know the town, eachother, the manager, the staff, the pitch, the system etc.

Does that not hold any weight on performance in sport?

I’d give it a few more games and if we’re still not improving, then we have proved our point.

A similar time supporting Curryman and I share the pain. Some excellent points.

think critch is a great coach just a shite manager as ollie was a great manager but a shite coach, he needed thommo as coach.
critch should be a coach and need a good man manager like ollie was to give the players belief in themselves

Like Curryman I have watched the Pool for many years and there were some dark days indeed in that time.
I have never booed or jeered any player or manager in my time even though maybe sometimes it could have been warranted.
My frustration again this year is the lack of communication coming out of the club with a typical example being Kyle Joseph.
Instead of hiding behind a wall of secrecy explain why he's out and how long for, Instead of letting rumours surround the club all the time.
Please play Rob Apter from the start as well on Saturday

This really is quite incredible. I can't claim to be in the least bit familiar with The Moody Blues' musical back-catalogue, but going back all those years (their heyday was in the 1960s/70s), to have had the foresight to write a song which would address the subject of Critche's roller-coaster managerial record from 2019 to the present day, as is captured by the quote included above, is truly remarkable. I mean, how could they possibly have known, all those years ago, how events would unfold in the future for Critch, firstly at Blackpool, then at Aston Villa, followed by a brief stint at QPR, before trying his hand again back at Blackpool? Don't ask me! I can only think the band perhaps approached a fortune teller.

Moody Blues didn't write it. It's a cover.

Getting bad new owners happens to us A LOT? ERRM no it doesn't ...which rather negates the validity of the rest of your post .
Oystons initially saved the club then went very mad and bad. Sadler? Again saved the club...and yes he really did. Bad?Nope I wouldn't yet say so. More lacklustre than bad

Yep , they re not doing themselves any favours by keeping actual news buried for ...well no particular reason it would seem . Openness brings about transparency , leading to better trust and a bit more fan , management , owner interaction and respect

The performances to date have been frustrating, to say the least, but the point about gelling a new set if players is a fair point and about 10 games feels about right. You are fortunate if you do it quicker. After relegation and wholesale changes on and off the pitch it was always going to be challenging to be a promotion contender this season.
However, there are a few issues atm in my opinion.
Firstly, with one or two exceptions, our finishing has been dire. I went to Lincoln and we could have been 2 up early on if we had put away our chances and that would have probably changed the whole rest of the match. Whilst we have now signed Rhodes, strengthening the forward line has been left too long and we still need further quality there. This is the main reason for the lack of goals and lack of wins.
Secondly, this 3 5 2 system with wing backs just doesn't work effectively if you do not pass the ball at pace and don't take or move the ball forward quickly. We are playing at a pedestrian pace with little movement forward and giving the opposition time to press us and get behind the ball. Marv just does not have the ability to be the middle centre back in such a system, and I am not convinced we have the quality of wing backs to provide quality support to the strikers. I haven't seem Thompson play and Gabriel is still injured. The way we play it, the system is boring and frustrating. I know we needed to strengthen the defence and midfield after last season, but we have stiffled attacking intent and creativity. I just couldn't understand why Weir didn't start the Lincoln game.
Still need another quality striker, quality winger and creative midfield player for me. And quality not quantity. Important couple of days in the transfer market for SS and NC.
We are fortunate that the top sides are still within striking distance, but NC must turn it around in the next 5 matches for me.

Thanks for letting me know, Wiz. Really hadn't realised. I'd always thought it was maybe penned by Justin Haywood. But obviously not. I defer to your 'sound' (geddit!?) judgement ...
Related to title of song didn't think anyone would be so pedantic to think otherwise "Go Now"could also be appropriate to a spider

But didn’t Critch win the play offs with us? How did he motivate the players to do that then?
