The way he left, whoever was in charge, last time disrespected the club and the fans and so Yes I would be disappointed.

Based on Appleton being shit and the other options not so shit (as him at least) 👍

I have a list of at least 99 better options...
All opinion then and not fact? 👍🏻

Michael Appleton is possibly in the top 50 mangers currently in this country. The fact that Blackpool are in the top 37 teams probably just rules him out, but not far off due to experience and know how. It would be disrespectful to put hom lower than that.

Apologies, there's actually only 98 ahead of him in my list... He managed to squeeze Father Ted into 100th place on account of him being deceased. It was a tough one, with Father Teds Corpse offering somewhat more in the personality and motivational side of the role, whilst Michael was considered to be technically more astute. 👍

I could see the attraction to Father Ted for the position, especially if he could tempt Pope from Burnley and Jesus from Man City.

Unfortunately he's no longer with us... So I'm afraid I've had to rule him out...

Other Options worth considering though, in preference to Appleton...

Hank Marvin
Venus Williams
Gerry Francis
Rafa Benitez
Gordon Ramsay
Harry Redknapp

You mean somebody unheard of like Joe Edwards, or somebody that has been heard of like David Unsworth? Possibility I suppose ...
Could be either. I’d imagine it’d be a total unknown with a great pedigree perhaps elsewhere like Graham Potter was for Brighton?

Why do you think that? What evidence do you base that on?
I think that because the club have interviewed Duff who was the front runner then they interviewed Rosenior who became the front runner and neither have been announced so that’s at least third in the pecking order and could well be someone else interviewed as well.
If the club are doing second interviews there must have been several candidates.

I think you need to view BFC differently now than in previous times. The club will invite people to interview, not wait for people to apply. Hopefully it's s moved up a notch in terms of stature and professionalism. Sure, candidates will still apply, but the clubs board will now actively seek the right person as opposed to waiting for them. That's not to say the 3rd person interview is the 3rd choice at all, quite the opposite in fact.

He basically did one after a few games. Why would we re-employ someone like that.

On 7 November 2012, Appleton was appointed manager of Blackpool on a one-year rolling contract.[20] His first game in charge was on 10 November 2012, a 2–2 draw at home to Bolton.[21] Appleton earned his first win as Blackpool manager on 1 December 2012, beating Peterborough 4–1 away from home, extending his unbeaten start to five games.[22] He was in charge for a further six League games, of which he won one, drew three and lost two.

After his resignation, he became the shortest-serving Blackpool manager in their history, with just eleven League games under his belt
I can’t accept that people think it’s ok that he left us after 11 games. We were infamous due to Koko so for him to suddenly have a lightbulb moment after 11 games, is something I find very convenient to convey the message.
He left us for a better job, which is exactly what NC did.

Just looked at all our managers stats and Appleton has the lowest win ratio except for 3, namely; Ferguson, Riga and Clarke. Let's face it we were in free fall when those three were in charge. So why on earth should he even be considered ..... I hope this is just journo bollox as I just don't get it, if true.

I’m honestly not bothered as long as we get someone who is rated and Appleton is generally rated quite highly not excited but interested to see what he can do might surprise us if he gets it

Appleton could be just a bait, for when we sign some nobody who will manage the club for 10 bob a week and all the fans will be saying thank fuck it wasn't Appleton.

I’d be disappointed. One massive positive though… I know the majority of the fan base appear to be opposed Appleton as number one. But, if the biggest gripe we’ve got with the club is appointing someone who had a promotion (Oxford) and a near promotion (Lincoln), then - in the grand scheme of things - it’s not a bad time to be a fan. We’ve come a long, long way since the recent dark days and, above all, I think the management team and owner have earned the right to have the benefit of the doubt a few times.

Not for me.
He left us in the lurch after 5 minutes when a supposed better offer came his way. Don't like disloyalty.
If he does get the job - then just hope he makes amends.

I'd get an "Appletin Out'' scarf made and wear it at his first home game. Please no, not him.

Taking my anti Appleton hat off for a moment, surely the Board must have some doubts. If they’ve interviewed him 3 times as is being reported and still not announced him ……

I'd be a little disappointed but I'd give him a chance. I certainly don't hold it against him that he left the Oyston-run BFC in the lurch.

He's had modest at best success elsewhere, but you never really know how a manager will work out at a club. Look at David Moyes at West Ham - that seemed like a pretty hopeless appointment and he's done a really good job.

My answer to the poll is yes, but I'm not really that sure why.

So, if you were making this decision and came on AVFTT, would the results of this poll sway your decision!!

When you see who the likes of Burnley and Blackburn have got in ,
We seem to be scraping the barrel.
