I can’t bring myself to scroll through the tripe on this board to see if this has already been said.

Reading our board have to explain our transfer window to us, is the most embarrassed I’ve felt about this club since the Oyston days. Nobody, including myself, has an ounce of understand of what goes on behind the scenes at our football club. It’s for the best that we don’t and that the club operate their business silently. It improves their position to negotiate. Trust the process.

For our fans to question our policies like some spoilt little children makes me wonder why SS bothers. Those who moan clearly still have an entitled mentality from the Oyston days - it needs to stop. We are Blackpool with 10k attendances - commercially, we are a very small club in the championship. We are also only three years in. Stop asking ‘why can’t we be like Luton?’

When we are in negotiations with clubs and players after today. How will they react to the fact our board have had to address the fans like they have?

Nobody will have been more disappointed than those in charge after CB fell through. They don’t need a bunch of unintelligent fans expressing their discontent as though the world is ending. I’d bet this will have happened with 2/3 other players during this window. CB just happened to be public. It’s the nature of football that deals fall through. We don’t know the full story.

In some circumstances, they should communicate. Over transfer negotiations, they shouldn’t. What do fans want? A timeline of CB’s movements that day, a comparison of both contract offers? We missed out, move on. It’s a difficult window. Preston signed Ben Woodburn ffs.

Different Fans want different stuff…plenty just want to vent their frustrations or talk about how they might do things differently…

Nobody necessarily needs to respond… it’s just what fans do really.

People like chatting shit 👍

SS clearly has a cap on his wealth, as does everyone. I’d be interested to know if those moaning would rather have £40m spent on TG & ES. Or if they’d rather the immediate gratification of expensive players.

Bare in mind there is no other club in the 92 ( that I’m aware of?) building a new stand and training ground simultaneously. Certainly none of our size. I know Port Vale are doing something to their stand and their fans are wetting themselves.

Expecting both is insane.

One would hope that this is no one connected to the club. Asking for our money on one hand and a tirade against those that give their money, is worthy of our previous regime.

I don't think it's particularly unhealthy... We're no different than any other set of fans... In the main, I'd say we're a lot more patient and far more supportive than most.

Having unrealistic expectations doesn't make someone insane...

I suspect you'd have a 75/25 split of fans in favour of investing in the TG & ES, with the 25% preferring just to invest in the team. That's just a guess by the way, but it's a valid perspective although I don't agree with it.

I'm not sure people are overly interested in other clubs really... Just Blackpool

You're as entitled to your own opinion as the next man, but an opening post just slagging people off for wanting to have an opinion about their club doesn't cut it for me.... We probably agree about the way the club should be run, but I'd rather have a forum where everyone's opinion can be heard...Not an echo chamber.

We really are scarred as a fan base aren’t we. I’m a season ticket holder and posted with the username ‘malkin’ far before the current regime. On the old board.
 
For the record Mr Malkin I'm in agreement with you. Fans seem to think they are entitled to know everything that goes on.

You miss the point really, these are targets we're failing to get across the line, not dream signings, the money is there but they're not coming for one reason or another.

Strange isn’t it. Maybe we should build a nice new training facility which allows us to compete?

For the record, I acknowledge people are entitled to their opinions. I’m just pointing out our fans go way, way too far. It’s toxic and no doubt a hangover of what we have been used to.

But the training ground has no bearing as we've already agreed a fee for the player.

It is a symptom of modern day life and everyone is at it.

What summed cancel culture up for me was the total irony of Tommy Robinson’s henchmen dragging a bloke off a podium in speakers corner, so that Tommy could give a talk about ‘Freedom of Speech’.. You couldn’t make that shit up 😂

It’s when people stop expressing their concerns, grievances and general bollocks that you have a problem 😉

Yes with the club, not the player. And you accused me of missing the point. Do you think Oxford care about where their old player is training?

This is going off track for me anyway and I’ll leave it there.
 
I think the key for me is let’s try and encourage positivity and not slag each other off..👍

We came out of the Oyston era as one of the most United fanbases in the country.

The togetherness at times last season was absolutely incredible snd I don’t think I’ve ever seen us all as up for it as we were for the home game against Knob End.

This close season has put people on a downer for one reason or another and we need to let it go, remember what we’re all about and get behind the lads… pick a few results up over the next few weeks and then it’s Burnley Away…. That’s got to get everyone up for it 👍
 
There's a lot to be said for turning up for a new season, finding out you've signed a new player, having a bovril and a pie and just watching the match.
Part of the unrealistic expectations mindset is that we come on here a dozen or so to times a day expecting, demanding stuff. Everything is a bit too instant these days and it's bloody exhausting
 
Putting the thread title as "You Lot" just lumps every single person on here together, as if every poster is old and married with the exact same view. There are female posters, unmarried posters, posters of all ages, heights, weights, sizes and no doubt others... not everyone goes home to a wife too. Which is nice!
