Zero

But still a steady 2000+ new Covid cases every day, a plateau rate. And the Indian variant, which tends to kill under-40s (mostly unvaxxed as yet) is overtaking the Kent variant in London. We are not yet out of the woods, although the situation is improving.

It’s all good news, but there’s no doubt that with the relaxation of restrictions next week, there will be an increase in cases and subsequently hospital admissions, and then sadly deaths. I hear scientists are forecasting cases to increase to 5,000 a day, we’ll down on January/February levels, and possibly another 10,000 deaths before the year is out.

I hope that’s a worst case scenario, but I guess we all have to factor in a level of deaths as we do with all other diseases.
