We were in the same pub as the teachers on a school trip in the lakes circa 1975 aged 16. But we got there first. Oh how times have changed.

I can remember my old man (who was a teacher) telling me about a trip to Germany when he was still just starting out in the profession. The experienced teacher leading the trip, got so pissed in a bier halle that he miscounted the boys back onto the tram to the hostel and left one behind. Kids name was Thomas Hamilton and as far as I can recall, it never did him any harm...

The experienced teacher leading the trip, got so pissed in a bier halle that he miscounted the boys back onto the tram to the hostel and left one behind. Always tell my staff to come back with one child extra if they must, but never one less. I'm just impressed in this day and age that there are still teachers that think getting pissed up and taking your class to a strip club abroad is a reasonable idea. We don't do that at my place. Then again, we can all still pay the mortgage..
