Just watching the Villa game.

When he was with us he showed glimpses of being a very good player but always seemed a bit reticent to take players on.

Watching him in Europe and he looks a complete player full of skill and confidence. A year's clearly a long time in football.

He was being managed by Dumb and Dumber..

Many on here questioned his ability.

Ridiculous.

Yep there was always something there with him.

We persist with players who are playing above their ceiling and that's the problem we have currently. And those that have scope to grow are loaned out or sold in some instances.

I can’t lie. He showed glimpses of talent when he was with us but I never expected him to make it at the top of the game. Didn’t help being in a struggling side with duff managers. Good luck to him.
There's hope yet for Kyle Joseph then. Very much reminds me of Rogers, great work rate, terrible finishing and lacking in confidence also being mismanaged by a duff manager!

You could see Rogers had talent but some on here said he was shite.

As someone else said I wouldn’t have had him down as playing in the PL/Europe a year on but definitely in 2-4 years so fair play to him.

Reminded me a lot of Matt Phillips in his prime with us actually the way he played etc.

Didn't he join us with the usual injury problems ? When he got over them he looked a class act in the making.

We had an attack made up of Poveda, Rogers, Bowler and Yates and finished second bottom. If that doesn't put into perspective how absolutely awful both the Appleton and McCarthy appointments were I don't know what will

In fairness to Appleton, Rodgers & Bowler didn’t arrive until January and he was/about to be potted.

Absolutely McCarthy was a shambles though, I can never forgive him for playing Luke Garbutt in CM ahead of someone like Fiorini.

Former Blackpool loanee Morgan Rogers will be playing in the Champions League next season.
The 21-year-old and his Aston Villa teammates were left celebrating on Tuesday night, as Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City secured The Villans’ place in the top four heading into the final weekend of the Premier League season.
Since the appointment of ex-Sevilla, PSG and Arsenal manager Unai Emery, the Birmingham club have enjoyed an upturn in form.

Amazing to see what a real talented coach like Emery has done. Rogers suffered from Appleton, and the Villa team suffered from whoever it was who devised their training sessions for his mate.
Rogers suffered from Appleton?
14 days after he was signed MA got potted you mean McCarthy?-

It was one of the biggest farces of that Jan transfer window we sign him and Bowler who are able to play in Appletons preferred 4-3-3 sack him and get Mr Hoofball.

I must admit whilst not wanting Appleton at all, along with not sacking him at the international break that was a very strange decision.
