U17 Floodlit Trophy final.

In todays U18s post match interview goalscorer Layton Campbell says he's looking forward to the game on Saturday.
Neil Eardley also makes reference to it.
Nothing on BFC Official site and the media team have been far too busy advertising BFC Hawaiian shirts.

I spoke to someone at Afc Wimbledon on Friday who told me the match was on Saturday 4th but she didn't know where or when other than to say it is not scheduled for Plough Lane.
I have since spoken to BFC ticket office who knew nothing about it and then got the same response from the Blackpool Supporters Liaison Officer.
He said he would call me back today but so far nothing.
I live 5 miles a whay from Wimbledon and really want to see this game especially after going to Reading last Saturday and the subsequent depression.
Is this competition sponsored by MI5? Why is it such a secret?
If you do find out more please be kind enough to post it on here soonest.
Thanks for all your reports, updates etc on the reserves and youth teams throughout the season

Our U17s are in action on Saturday evening, playing their Final against AFC Wimbledon.

Kick off at Plough Lane at 5pm on Saturday evening.

Chance to tick off a new ground as well 😉

No. If it had been Bloomfield Rd I'd have driven across but South London is too far.
yeah if i was down there i’d have gone as it is one of the few left i’ve got to do with the Seasiders but i’ll wait until we draw them away in one of the cups 😜

Looking forward to a match report from you.

I would love to oblige but it won't be easy because I won't recognise the players.
Do they hand out team sheets at youth matches.
Don't suppose we have squad numbers.

I'll put the team sheet on here so it's just a case of matching names to numbers.

What a weird competition! So you beat two sides in a group stage and get through to a final against AFC Wimbledon?

The young Seasiders beat Mansfield Town 5-0 to reach the final following wins over Preston North End and Morecambe in the group stage of the competition.

This is the world's worst reported competition. There were more games than that. I actually watched the u17s beat Walsall 2-0 one very wet Wednesday night. I think that might have a quarter final match.

The lack of coverage is a bit weird, not just from a BFC angle but generally.

A quick Google for EFL U17 Floodlit Cup threw up very few results.
As far as the format is concerned this was the most informative...
"Should the youth team finish top of the (5 team) group and qualify, they will then enter a one-legged knockout format with seven other sides from across the Youth Alliance"

That suggests c.40 clubs entered, and the finalists will have played 7 games in total.

The very best of luck to our young players and their coaches.
You've done BFC and your families proud. Despite not even having a home ground to play on.

The new ground isn't on the same site, as I understood it. Bit further down the road.
Did the original Plough Lane in 1983/84 whilst work at London South Legal Aid office. Two clubs heading in different directions, we got gubbed 5-0.
Walked to the ground with Tony Quested.
