Critch part 2

Lots of people acting like they are in the Godfather and they must never forgive a great betrayal. 🙄

He is a strong candidate, knows the club and has worked with a large proportion of the players. And has pedigree getting promoted from League 1. Would be a good decision.
He'd perhaps have the sway to convince those that may be looking elsewhere

actually the most worrying part of that is ‘…decision made in the Summer…’??

total failure if that is the case. New manager MUST be in place almost immediately after the season finishes. There is a ton of work to be done and we CANNOT waste another Transfer Window.

And I’ve no idea why I’m speaking in italics….

We need to get him to the Armfield before the contract is offered and check he didn’t paint over his “King Kenny scored 2 not 1” tat.

If it’s still there then I’m fine with it 👍

Critchley is largely responsible for the total loss of confidence this squad is now going through.I wouldn’t want him back anywhere near the place.

Putting that aside, would things be like they were?im not sure. The players wouldn’t respect him now like they did then. That betrayal would always be present and a couple of losses the fans will quickly turn on him.

Not for me.Take some time to identify how we want to play as a club, what is our style and philosophy, what players do we need to bring in to play that style and who is the right man long term for that project.Sadler won’t want to gain this sacking reputation that is creeping in and the sackings he has made were totally justified but on paper they start indicating that Sadler is trigger happy when he really hasn’t been.If anything he is reluctant to pull the trigger but only we know that by living it every week.

He had the ability to squeeze every last ounce out of the squad and picked teams to match opposition teams, rather than a rigid approach.

You will always get freak defeats in the Championship, so its harsh to level Preston and Peterborough at him

Undoubtedly he is a good coach but I'd like to see the club do its due diligence and research the managers market place, as they did with Critchley the first time rather sound him out as the easy option.

They simply cant get the next appointment wrong can they!

His last 10 games with us and his record at QPR were awful, granted we will more than likely be in a lower league next season
Yeah, if you’re going to cherry pick certain times then you can make any managers time sound bad and wasn’t one of them 10 games a 6-1 win? He got us promoted and kept us up. For a club our size that is some achievement.
If there is better out there who we can actually get them I’m all for that.
I’d personally go all out for Nathan Jones but think that’s a tad unrealistic.

Last ten games included draws with Sheff Utd, Blackburn and Luton, an away win at Barnsley and a 6-1 win against Birmingham. That's half the last ten games. And a last minute defeat away to WBA. Talk about focusing on the negatives. And we had stayed up comfortable, with players now deemed not good enough for the Championship.

So you are talking complete and utter bollocks, with all due respect.

It’s a no from me cos if we lose a couple it’s back to the Appleton saga.

Fresh start. Let’s go.
Not quote as bad as the Appleton appointment as Critchley has done good things here and was loved.

Appleton never did anything good at all.

But yeah don't go back.

Someone new or if Dobbie does well him, or that type of positive ex player and experienced number 2 model.

I'd happily have him back from a personal perspective, I think the bloke is an absolute genius and was one of the most meticulous managers that we have ever had. I think the players would all 100% agree that they have never been better prepared for individual games than they were under little Pep.

That said, you always have to account for the idiot factor and yesterday we saw how the idiots can turn on a sixpence and undermine everything... So I'm afraid it would require either a very well orchestrated PR campaign to try and get the idiots on-side or we'd probably be best just looking elsewhere.

If he had some decency when he left things may be slightly different. The way it happened annoyed a lot but tbh losing him to a number 2 role made us look daft so that was a factor too.

I don't think many would have argued at him going to a better number 1 role.
