Can we get behind him now?

In no way is his return similar to Appleton's.

Critchley has proven credentials, brought success to the club previously, and was the best available.

Appleton was out of his depth from the start and never should have been anywhere near a shortlist of names, never mind the man to get the job.

We need to get behind him instead of the incessant pissing and whinging every time a certain section of our fan base don't get their own way.

Yes, happy with this, would have preferred that Dobbie stay on, but maybe was a bit too much to ask.

Having the coach in by May 23rd is great, we have plenty of time to identify recruits to mount a charge up the league.

If Critchley left the first time because he wasn't happy with his backing then he wouldn't have come back this time if he wasn't certain he'd be backed.

Let's see what he can do. 🍊

Delighted with this. Lot to be said having a manager that lives in the area plus connections to one of the biggest teams in Europe. How anyone could deny him his move to Villa is beyond me, I certainly didn’t. I also know he had a problem with backing so perhaps Simon has promised him some money too which can only be good for the club. Great appointment and a brave one too.

I cant wait for his video later.......

Oh, wait I can actually with the bleached sterile questions that will be asked....

people make mistakes critchley could and should have handled departure better but has apologised
this is a real good appointment most of the players he brought to the club
they know and respect each other
can hit the ground running
please be supportive and not divisive
I’m pretty certain Jerry will have little respect for him.

I physically sit behind him in the west, whether I get behind him in my head and heart will depend on what the club does next. Who will his assistant be? His back room staff? What players we bring in, and then what he does on the pitch. For me I’m totally underwhelmed at the moment, I just hope he can get off to a flyer and ffs play some pressing, entertaining football which SS said he wanted when he took over.

There are plenty like me who are conditioned to accepting stupid appointments and will get behind the team as usual , but to expect there to be no division after a series of divisive appointments , good luck with that !

Would have preferred Dobbie be given the job, but I'm not too concerned with the reappointment. I know we got compo last time but I think 4 years again is a bit o t t.

Like someone said already, let's make some decent signings. We can't start another season cold (yes I know NC did shite in his first 10 games)

No and I can't believe we're getting the "get behind the manager even though he's obviously the wrong choice" schick again.

Imagine the past year never happened, most would be behind Critchley going into a new preseason, with some new signings and a decent chance of being competitive. Yes, in a lower league but a chance to win more than we lose, and bring some positivity to the place. Give him a chance, and see where it takes us.

I’ll stand there and belt out Neil Critchleys tangerine army.

The first bit is done. Now let’s get recruiting the promotion team. I’ll never forget that day at Wembley. This year let’s go up as Champions
It'll take a bit longer to earn that one this time Chunkylad
