We may not be short on numbers but if he improves us then we need him, same goes for anyone who's better than what we've gotWe aren’t short of midfielders though?
Why do we need wingers in our pre season games up to now we've started 3-5-2 and lets be honest the modern forward can play in multiple positions. Is he a winger ?
Not sure it'll take double, look at other similar deals or fees quoted, Mendez Laing proven L1 midfield/forward 300k to Bolton, Tommy Leigh Accy L1 midfielder 200k price tag, Matty Virtue alleged 200k price tag, Norburn allegedly cost around 300-350kI’d of been surprised if they’d accepted 250k and unfortunately this now alerts other clubs if his agent hasn’t already done so.I’d of thought we’d have to double that to get him to be honest, dead ball specialist.
We've made one bid. This seasons Brannagan
Centre midIs he a winger ?
Thank youCentre mid
To be honest I thought he had two years left on his contract but it seems it runs out next summer so possibly a bid of 300k/400k may well get him.type of player we should be going for imo.Not sure it'll take double, look at other similar deals or fees quoted, Mendez Laing proven L1 midfield/forward 300k to Bolton, Tommy Leigh Accy L1 midfielder 200k price tag, Matty Virtue alleged 200k price tag, Norburn allegedly cost around 300-350k
Moxon looks a good player but 500k for a guy who's yet to play above L2 is high when you consider the alternatives
They aren't going to get anything like £1m for a player with 12mths left on his contract who has never played above league two. Not a chance. They'll either sell for around £500k max, or they'll let his contract run down. I suspect they'd be tempted to cash in and re-invest.Quote from the Carlisle forum:
“laughable offer. Can't blame them for trying their luck though, they probably know exactly what our owners are like for accepting derisory offers.
I don't think we should even entertain anything less than a million, but wouldn't be surprised if 350 - 400k tempts our board, based on what we've accepted over the years for the likes of Dempsey.”
He's a different type of player than both Carey and Morgan. For a start he's much bigger and whilst creative, has a very impressive work rate and isn't frightened of putting his foot in. I for one would be delighted if we can agree a deal.£500k might tempt them, he apparently has 12 mths left on his contract, and if he doesn't want to sign a new one (not saying that's the case), then they'd be looking to cash in you'd expect. Carlisle fans seem to think a seven figure fee is what he's worth, however, you just aren't going to get that for a player who's highest level of experience is league two. We sold Yates for £2.5m with two years left on his contract and he was one of the highest scorers in the championship. I suspect £500k wouldn't be too far off if we really wanted him. The question for me is, where would he fit in? We already have Carey and Morgan.
Sounds promising then, a midfield three of Norburn, Trybull and Moxon would be very decent. It might be a signal that we're about to accept the offer for Virtue perhaps. He's a different type of player than both Carey and Morgan. We would need to sell. Having too many can have a negative impact. His value on TransferMarkt is 400k.
With 1 year left on his contract and no sign of renewing surely 500k is enough to get him?
That is unless they value a full season of him in League 1 as more worth more than 500k (which it might to them if he helps keep them up).
Adding him would put us at exactly 3 attacking midfielders (Morgan, Carey, Moxon) and 3 holding midfielders (Trybull, Norburn, Dougall).
That’d be outstanding depth in midfield for this season.
It’s an interesting read on their forum, the exact type of reaction you want the selling club to have when you’re in for their player.Someone on the Carlisle board reckons he's coming to us for a fee of around £400k. No idea if there's any truth to it or if the person is reliable.
I can't imagine there would be room for Virtue as well, so it wouldn't surprise me at all. It’s an interesting read on their forum, the exact type of reaction you want the selling club to have when you’re in for their player.
I wonder if we’re selling Virtue and replacing with Moxon? I’ll be very happy if we get this over the line.
Selling Virtue for 200k and then replacing him with Moxon for 500k would be outstanding business. We would need to sell. Having too many can have a negative impact.

Sounds like they're referring to Matty Virtue who's chosen Wrexham. Would love for this to be trueFrom the Carlisle board:
"Can only post what I’ve been told by a reliable source.
The club has decided to cash in rather than lose him for nothing which is understandable.
Surprisingly the only club who’s shown genuine interest is Blackpool and I believe the fee rejected was 200k with add ons and though this has been made public today the bid was actually turned down yesterday and a follow bid of 400k has been accepted.
A player coming the opposite way as part of the deal was a potential but I’m told he rejected the move and is heading to a league two club."
I'd love this to be true, but as long as it doesn't turn into another Brannagan situation then I don't know enough about him to be fussed one way or the other. Sounds promising though. From the Carlisle board:
