Because you could get away with them for free on the self service in Lytham& why will this decision make you pay for a bag?
You must not have been in the Booths in Lytham then!! Usually about 5 minutes for them to scan 2 items & take payment!! Avoid at all costs if on on your lunch break and only 1 till open!!and did nothing for speed of service.
'Speed of service' is not something I associate with Booths.a study from a few years ago showed that over the long term automated checkouts in supermarkets were more costly than people, and did nothing for speed of service.
I went to use a self service checkout in Aldi but realised the previrus users shopping was still on screen so used another. As I was leaving an assistant came running after me asking if I’d just used that checkout. No it was still in use so I used another i said and went off. It was only later on I realised someone must have scanned and bagged their shopping then left without paying. That takes some nerve. Maybe they had someone distracting the assistant. It will be to combat the epidemic of shoplifting were apparently suffering.
I gave up going there on my lunch break some time ago as I couldn’t cope with navigating my way around all the dithering old biddies wandering around like some zombie apocalypse. You must not have been in the Booths in Lytham then!! All stores in Lancashire..just the 2 in the Lake District to keep them…Windermere and KeswickIs it all Booths or just the Poulton one?
What about the other 5 in Cumbria (Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Milnthorpe, Penrith, Ulverston), the 2 in Cheshire (Hale Barns, Knutsford) and the 3 in Yukshire (Ilkley, Ripon, Settle) ?All stores in Lancashire..just the 2 in the Lake District to keep them…Windermere and Keswick
The self service ones in Poulton haven't been on for weeks. Booths announce getting rid of them and suddenly last night they're working againIs it all Booths or just the Poulton one?
Yeah , I was in yesterday and noticed they were working for the first time in weeks. Bizarre timing. The self service ones in Poulton haven't been on for weeks. Booths announce getting rid of them and suddenly last night they're working again
Google is quite helpful - you should try it sometimeWhat about the other 5 in Cumbria (Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Milnthorpe, Penrith, Ulverston), the 2 in Cheshire (Hale Barns, Knutsford) and the 3 in Yukshire (Ilkley, Ripon, Settle) ?
I probably should but why bother when I've got such a ready front of knowledge, wisdom (and sometimes sarcasm) available on AVFTT?Google is quite helpful - you should try it sometime
Self-service: Booths supermarket puts staff back behind its tills
Booths says removing its self-service checkouts is the right thing to do and what customers want.www.bbc.co.uk
Lynch is a throwback to 1970's union leaders. There was me thinking this board would be in full support of a business replacing technology with people….. bet Mick Lynch wishes the railways were run by Booths management
I'm gonna make a conscious effort to use the St Annes store more. I like that this a NW business that is trying to go against the flow.I've never seen anyone else at the checkput in Booths St Annes. It must be the quietest supermarket in England.
You'll be one yourself someday.I gave up going there on my lunch break some time ago as I couldn’t cope with navigating my way around all the dithering old biddies wandering around like some zombie apocalypse.
Apologies, badly worded. The point I was making was why do so many pensioners go shopping between 12 and 2 when those of us who are working are rushing around in our lunch break. They have all day after all. You'll be one yourself someday.
We use Booths a lot (Poulton).
Don't get big crowds and usually quickly served.
We always go about 09.00 or just after.Apologies, badly worded. The point I was making was why do so many pensioners go shopping between 12 and 2 when those of us who are working are rushing around in our lunch break. They have all day after all.
If they are doing away with self-service tills workers would have to wait while they all have a chat at the manned tills. Not a problem for me any more though as I’ve stopped going there at lunchtimes and I expect more to follow suit.
