That’s me done for the season I gave up my two season tickets after the Birmingham game at home last season I’m it cost me 50 odd quid a game for me and my lad I’m done not even watching the highlights ** load donkeys Chris Hamilton couldn’t trap a bag of cement useless
 
Annoying ass result and performance, we weren't at our best and Northampton played well, but if a couple things go differently (Beesley's miss, their player that should have been sent off) then we easily win.

League 1 doesn't have much quality, but it's still all about fine margins and tonight they just didn't cut the right way for us.
 
Unacceptable from the players and officials. Equally as shit as each other.

Credit to Northampton to be fair. Probably should have had 2 red cards but were the better side.
 
The Tuesday night curse strikes again, talk about deflating, in one way entirely predictable but we were so good against Portsmouth that I felt like we could overcome. Feel sick.
 
We just aren't good enough to be consistent. The formation holds us back as well as the lack of quality in key areas.

It just isn't good enough and Critchley living on the odd good performance. It's fooling many but not the ones who understand football.
 
a professional footballer simply cannot miss a chance as easy as that at the end. Ball hanging in the air, no challenge, and most of the net to aim at.
 
Good job it's the FA cup game on Saturday, some of these players need to have a break for 10 days, they were really sluggish tonight. I was happy he kept the same side, but they had no answers to NT's tactics and we never do when teams play like that against us.

Can't argue with that . Strong , aggressive more hungry on the night perhaps. They played some decent stuff... A half decent game to watch ...tho a draw would have been about right ...

Did they fly back from Portsmouth, travel by coach, or share lifts in their Cortinas?
It's not as if they were coming back from Istanbul.

Lol, on paper we played decent, but not great tonight, it was a freak result.

18 shot, 5 on target for 1.36 xG v.s. their 10 shots, 4 on target for 0.67 xG.

Mistakes were made and we should have been drawing AT WORST, but results like this happen.

It's 20 games into the new season, nothing has been won or lost yet, we're not where we want to be yet, but there have been more than enough positive signs lately to make me believe they will get the consistency thing right eventually.
 
A truly abysmal performance. We still should have had a point out of it which is no consolation as I thought they were poor as well. Overall standard about National League level. I would say mainly a lack of basic skill on the part of most of our players but the tactics didn't help either. Need to at least attempt to work it through midfield more and the spaces between our lines looked too big to me.

We lost a tight match after a couple of stellar performances and you come out with your,' never wasting my money on em again' drivel.

It annoys me too even though its my own team.
Radio Lancs was as bad tonight in the build up. Andy Bayes , Brett, Gary Bowyer...talking like we were Real Madrid. Totally OTT.

Think this is totally missing the point. We can't go a season with fine lines and margins not cutting for us. It was not a good performance and any ambitions of hunting the top two and remaining in the top 6 means we should be putting these teams to the sword. How many times do we say fine margins etc...before we're 12 points adrift and mid table looms. We've been sub par so many times already this season.
 
People writing us off after a disappointing result. We'd just won two games back to back 4 nil, one of them away to the league leaders who hadn't lost for 27 games (or whatever it was).

We need to become more consistent, I agree with that - but no way does tonight confirm we ain't going up. A long way to go yet and another transfer window, we sit just outside the play-offs and have shown promising signs recently of it starting to click. Disappointing stuff tonight but its not the end of the world.

I agree, we can't accept or be content with results like this, we should have at worst drawn tonight.

However, we shouldn't immediately jump to conclusions that our season is over or that Critchley needs to ditch the system.

We created more than enough chances to win tonight, but didn't finish while gifting the opposition a goal.

It's frustrating, but we are still on an upward trajectory.
