This side of the board makes the channel 4 show the last leg look right wing at times

Don't you get paid by the government?I don't believe them, that's why. Last night he was saying there was a big mob outside the counting hall. The pictures showed maybe 20 people, most of whom were journalists on their phones.
Crying wolf, like Sunak.
Look, no one wants to see intimidation during an election. If it's proved, then I'll hold my hand up, but there's a history of electoral losers claiming all kinds of things that don't come to anything.
Farage (who is the owner of Reform, don't forget) is a past master of it, along with his bestie Trump.
Postal votes have gone up because of the need to show certain forms of ID at polling stations. A lot of people, especially in constituencies like Rochdale, don't have passports or driving licences, so can't vote in person. You still can with a postal vote.Maybe it’s about dodgy postal votes ,or threats to other candidates or hastling people outside the polling station which is against the law or maybe it’s about threats to firebomb peoples businesses who are opposition supporters ???
Retired mate.Don't you get paid by the government?

Solid gold, not plated.Gold plated pension from the civil service then
Lucky you
You who have taken the pound and sold your soul
Ha haSolid gold, not plated.
Postal voting is far more open to fraud.Postal votes have gone up because of the need to show certain forms of ID at polling stations. A lot of people, especially in constituencies like Rochdale, don't have passports or driving licences, so can't vote in person. You still can with a postal vote.
This lot have changed the rules and are then aghast at the consequences. Once again short sighted policies.
I dont disagree. Yet every study and investigation to date says fraud is miniscule.Postal voting is far more open to fraud.
Calm down.Yeah left wing mod at it again
Who are you, you cowardly tw@t?
Given you have spent most of your working life under a Tory Government and being a civil servant i don't get why so are so anti ToryI dont disagree. Yet every study and investigation to date says fraud is miniscule.
You sir, are a right wing provocateur.I see my reply to this post has gone, despite as I always am, being very careful with my words. Reported as apparent racist undertones by some For stating a fact about the voting patterns, as mentioned in that article, all voting in unison, and questioning integration if so. If 4 million people voting along religious grounds doesn't show a lack of integration what would?
Absolutely ridiculous.
post removed, abusive comments.Calm down.
No need for pointless insults.post removed.
I don't know the extent, but a relatively small amount could potentially swing close seats and influence an election.I dont disagree. Yet every study and investigation to date says fraud is miniscule.
Why? You're not causing me any problems. you carry on old boy.report it then
Ban me
You sir, are a right wing provocateur.
No I don't mean me. I rise and fall with the punches. I mean that you are provocative in your choice of words. Please explain how so and in relation to the post you replied to. I'm not interested in provoking anyone, I'm just posting an opinion, or a question, or in many cases information already out there.
If you're being provoked by my posts maybe you have an issue seeing things you don't like.
If you notice, this side of the board is predominantly LW and a lot of the time when people post something, it's usually jumped all over by the usual suspects.
In short, it's because they're usually ****.Given you have spent most of your working life under a Tory Government and being a civil servant i don't get why so are so anti Tory
And so are Labour. In short, it's because they're usually cunts.
Well yeah, but I don't remember a Labour government being quite this cruel. And so are Labour.
Divide and conquer is the game.
Can you point me to where? No I don't mean me. I rise and fall with the punches. I mean that you are provocative in your choice of words.
Yes but that would be pointng out the obvious. Can you point me to where?
Yes but that would be pointng out the obvious.
All Prime Minsters are unelected, at least directly, why should this one be any different?Am I the only person who sees irony in the fact that an unelected prime minister is bleating on about democracy
Are you serious? He wasn’t even chosen by his own party members (who preferred Liz Truss to him) let alone the British publicAll Prime Minsters are unelected, at least directly, why should this one be any different?
The only thing that matters is that he has the support of a majority of MPs in parliament, that is the same condition that applies to all Prime Ministers. Are you serious? He wasn’t even chosen by his own party members (who preferred Liz Truss to him) let alone the British public
Yes, you're right. Even so, it's been three PMs since the last one had to run the gauntlet of an election in order to become prime Minister. The only thing that matters is that he has the support of a majority of MPs in parliament, that is the same condition that applies to all Prime Ministers.
It is an odd democracy, isn't it, where this can happen. The individuals are less importaant than the policcies. The way it has laways worked is that prties put ther manifestoes to the electorate. Between some publicity and dirty tricks on both sides, the electorate make their choice. The elected Government then follow though with those policies, with variances depending on developing conditions.Yes, you're right. What kind of evidence is that? Most of you have either forgotten about or are ignoring some of the evidence .

This lot are so far away from their manifesto, I am staggered even their own are supporting them. HS2, Immigration, levelling up, tax, local democracy, honesty and integrity, win win Brexit, trade deals, the list goes on and on....

A few? Anti government would suggest they'd hold the same energy when Labour are in power, which they won't.Yep, agree with that TM. It`s a symptom of the post-truth world that the political manifesto is becoming increasingly irrelevant.
JJ, I know you like to erroneously label a lot of things "left wing" when in fact many on here are just anti-government (certainly since Johnson came to power). Yes, there are a few genuine "lefties" on here, but there are a lot of centrists who just want "professionalism, integrity and accountability" - to coin a phrase - from whichever government is in power...
Islam on the march.
Sunak is bob on.
We now have an insane political religion of 4 million people in the UK.
Great idea
Incredibly nothing will be done. What is Sunak going to do about it ?
That’s not true though. He addressed the nation. That’ll sort it.Incredibly nothing will be done.
Roughly 350 men have come across the channel in the last couple of days.
Staggering numbers.
