Hamilton doesn't.Really? If you can provide a goal producing cross every game then get yourself down to Squires Gate pronto.

It's frustrating that we don't seem to play to so many of our players strengths. Feels to me like Critchley knows how he wants us to play, and maybe because he's been at Liverpool where players are technically so good you can make them play any way and they can adapt, he can't see past the problem with trying to do that with less complete players (and I don't mean that as a dig at the players we have!).Because you watch the games as a whole and judge players well.
I agree with you on his defecits but I also think it's unfair not to credit what he does and rightly you do so.
Fwiw I really noticed how uncomfortable he is turning with the ball yesterday. Carey, Coulson, Byers and Kaddy in particular are very good at taking it on their instep, spinning and turning play round. He seems often to only be able to pass it back the way it came.
No sooner had I said that out loud "he can only play the way he's facing..." than he spun like a veritable whirling dervish and hammered into the box and created a penalty shout.
I'm much less annoyed with CJ than with a manager who makes him a key man in a system that demands technically able wide men. He's not the answer but I'm also not sure Gabriel is (despite being one of our best players)
He does seem to have given up the ghost since he signed his new contract. Why the manager keeps selecting him is beyond me.Just was looking at Grimmys magnificent save at the end of the game last night..its been posted on a few media outlets...if you look at the build up to this ...the left winger runs down the wing with Hamilton in pursuit....Hamilton is running at a cantor like he is going through the motions with very little intention of stopping the winger from getting in a cross which so nearly cost Blackpool 2 points....professional footballer...your having a laugh.
Maybe because his crosses have led to winning goals in the last 2 home games. He does seem to have given up the ghost since he signed his new contract. Why the manager keeps selecting him is beyond me.
True, but I'm talking about his overall play during matches where he just jogs up and down the pitch not getting stuck in.Maybe because his crosses have led to winning goals in the last 2 home games.
Yes, I could hardly believe it was him .why am i doing this and defending him? Must be mad. But there was one moment in the first half where he tracked back really well and was pretty much the last man and came across to get the ball and clear it out. They were in otherwise.
There's the dilemma. We can all see his flaws but he can produce moments that lead to goals . For me if we play 3 5 2 then he is still the bestTrue, but I'm talking about his overall play during matches where he just jogs up and down the pitch not getting stuck in.
But hey, if he supplies one good pass that results in a goal every game. Does that one good pass cancel out his poor performance during 99.9% of the match?
Agree however if someone else had played instead they could have set or 2/3 goals.. scored etc... all ifs and butt's.Some strange comments on here. Last 2 wins wouldn't have happened without CJ's input. Factamundo.
Maybe 3-5-2 is the problem with CJ. Has the offensive side of his game been knocked out of him playing RWB and he's now just going through the motions. I don't think he's happy playing RWB as that's not his natural position. There's the dilemma. We can all see his flaws but he can produce moments that lead to goals . For me if we play 3 5 2 then he is still the best
option at RWB .
One word …. CritchleyHow he starts ahead of Gabriel is beyond me
A very good summary of things.CJ has the pace and the athleticism for the Premier League, but there are plenty of technically more capable players in the NW Counties games I watch. Seriously.
We'd be a hell of a lot more effective with Gabriel and Apter on the right, in my opinion. Critch's faith in CJ has undermined my faith in Critch this season. What is he thinking?
Plus, Beesley and Joseph cost us about £1.5m in fees. There are plenty of better strikers in L1 that cost very little. And Critch proudly told us that Norburn is one of the best L1 midfielders when he signed him. And made him captain. He was wrong on both counts, I think.
He also messed about with Ekpiteta for a good while this season, and dismantled his confidence.
It's been a poorly led campaign, by any standards. In my opinion.
But that's a lie.Maybe because his crosses have led to winning goals in the last 2 home games.
I don't lie and I resent the accusation.But that's a lie.
It's a bare-faced lie to suit your narrative.I don't lie and I resent the accusation.
How he starts ahead of you is beyond MeHow he starts ahead of Gabriel is beyond me
So which part of ' his crosses have led to winning goals in the last 2 home games ' is a ' bare -faced lie' ?It's a bare-faced lie to suit your narrative.
Or tackle head shoot cross etcHis confidence is shot...he has Pennington behind him who rarely gives him a decent pass, certainly never one "over the top" for him to run on to which is effectively is strength so I do have a little sympathy for him...he certainly favours a full back behind him in a 4-4-2 type of formation.....that said he can't trap a bag of cement.
His cross in the last game was an assist and if you are going to go 4 touches before the ball is in the net the game before you are taking the proverbial piss.So which part of ' his crosses have led to winning goals in the last 2 home games ' is a ' bare -faced lie' ?

Wobbling his head is still not going to change the truth about the lemmings and cowards that come on here as supporters and do more damage to some players moral the a bunch of nobbersGive your head a wobble Mrs CJ
You can play it down all you like but the cross into the box was the catalyst for the goal being scored. The respected insiders post no 18 on thisHis cross in the last game was an assist and if you are going to go 4 touches before the ball is in the net the game before you are taking the proverbial piss.
Tell us all one positive from him today as he slips back into Northwest Counties level mode......You can play it down all you like but the cross into the box was the catalyst for the goal being scored. The respected insiders post no 18 on this
thread says it all for me .
Yes he was poor today , no question. I only defend him on those occasions when I think his positive contributions are overlooked , noneTell us all one positive from him today as he slips back into Northwest Counties level mode......
He is absolutely tragic to the point of the ☠of
Someone gets it.He isn't a wing back so I refuse to judge him.
Someone gets it.
Play players in their correct positions and then judge. Although the bits i saw he didn't look good today.
But just how many 'structural flaws' should one player be allowed to bring to his game? There's the dilemma. We can all see his flaws but he can produce moments that lead to goals . For me if we play 3 5 2 then he is still the best

I think he has warranted selection partly because who else would you play at RWB. With Lyons injury there is only really Gabriel who could play thereBut just how many 'structural flaws' should one player be allowed to bring to his game?
I know you can't really 'quantify' the precise total by even attempting to put forward a 'ball-park' figure, but, however you calculate it, with regard to the sheer 'volume' of shortcomings CJ has 'in his locker', you are clearly looking at a number well in advance of what any pundit, worth his salt, would consider as 'acceptable' for a professional footballer.
So, I'm sorry, but even we were to play a system better suited to his game, I'm still not convinced CJ 'brings enough to the table' to warrent selection. I just feel opponents would quickly find ways of containing him, and that would therefore seriously limit whatever he might otherwise have been in a position to offer us as a team.
A hope killing thought if ever there wasLet's remind ourselves kids ...
