Breaking news!
Russia and China will send weapons to Iran. Did you never watch Threads?Might divert Iranian weaponry away from Ukraine?
US will sell weapons to Israel and watch the Middle East slug it out
"Dozens of drones and missiles" launched from Iran.
Bidens visit to Delaware cut short and has been sent back to Washington.
Is shooting down drones classed as getting involved, as its kind of non-aggressive action ?Us and UK fighter jets are intercepting drones. Ours took off from Cyprus. Some of them are said to have been over Jordan. Looks like Saudi will get involved if that's the case.
Wall Street journal is also saying that the French navy has been sent to help shoot down missiles and drones. Its all going to shit really quickly tonight.
Like the legal position matters, don't be so naiveWhat did the world expect? Israel hit an Iranian consulate in a third party country and killed Iranians. Totally illegal, just like the Hamas attacks.
Netanyahu keeps stirring the pot, Hamas, Iranians react, suspect Hizbolla will get active again, what a mess.
The UN and US need to put serious effort into de-escalating, or we could end up with another Middle East war, politicians of all countries playing the big man and thousands more innocents killed.
I have no problem with the RAF stopping more innocents being killed, but what is the legal position on this, anyone know?
And Iran was behind the 7/10 attacks, what did they expect? What did the world expect? Israel hit an Iranian consulate in a third party country and killed Iranians. Totally illegal, just like the Hamas attacks.

So was it illegal killing Bin Laden in a third party country? I didn’t see many countries mourning it afterwards? What did the world expect? Israel hit an Iranian consulate in a third party country and killed Iranians. Totally illegal, just like the Hamas attacks.

Yeah alright Einstein, lend me your crystal ball will youYou thick fucker, Trump if he's reelected will give putin Ukraine within 6 weeks.
Total myth I’m just surprised someone has fallen for it.You thick fucker, Trump if he's reelected will give putin Ukraine within 6 weeks.
It’s sad that lefties can’t allow any other views to there’s so presume you think Biden is the sharpest leader of the free world ever. Resorting to insults means you have lost the argumentYou thick fucker, Trump if he's reelected will give putin Ukraine within 6 weeks.
Trump is totally in thrall to Putin. Explain why he's blocked Ukrainian support for months.Total myth I’m just surprised someone has fallen for it.
Dead right. But at least we don’t have any mean tweets anymore so every cloud.Biden told Iran not to attack and he also has no influence over Israel. This is what happens when you have someone weak and obviously in cognitive decline in the Whte House. For all his faults it could have been different if trump has won and Russia might not have dared to attack Ukraine.
Hang on a minute, it was Iran that just launched over 300 missiles at Israel, it was Iran that was behind the rape, murder and mutilation of 1,200 Israelis on 7/10.It’s about time Israel ate some humble pie and and we’re not encouraged by the west to do what they want!
Agree with this. If Israel take a step back now and look at the bigger picture its quite possible there will be no further retaliation from them on this one, and scores considered settled for now.Iran told Israel that they were doing this. You can't help but feel that they had to be seen to be doing something to support their allies, but the way they've done it is almost deliberately set up to fail, allowing the tension in the region to be dialled back.
The Republican's blocked it until funding is made available for tightening security on its southern border with Mexico to curb the mass illegal immigration.Trump is totally in thrall to Putin. Explain why he's blocked Ukrainian support for months.
Yer but facts don’t count to some on here.Hang on a minute, it was Iran that just launched over 300 missiles at Israel, it was Iran that was behind the rape, murder and mutilation of 1,200 Israelis on 7/10.
Bring in Russia and China et alA question, why should Israel and the West not escalate? Why not take the opportunity to take out the nuclear facilities? Why not smack the IRGC so hard that they no longer want to live?
What does the West have to fear from Iran? What could they do that they're not doing already?
Instead of looking weak by not reacting, why not show them how strong we really are?
Russia and China won’t get involved so long as America don’t directly get involved.Bring in Russia and China et al
and along comes ww3. Surely now de-escalation is the best option.
Russia is tied up in Ukraine and can't afford a direct confrontation with the West, Xi is winding his neck back in now he's realized that China is nowhere near as strong as he thought it was, neither have any great love for Iran, neither are going to come running to their aid.Bring in Russia and China et al
and along comes ww3. Surely now de-escalation is the best option.
They didn't.Why did Isreal bomb the Iranian embassy in Syria ?
Lets hope the West keep out then. De-escalation at this point is still the preferable option.Russia and China won’t get involved so long as America don’t directly get involved.
The last thing Russia want is another war on another front right now.
‘Making ourselves look weak ‘ …..we, as in the UK, haven't been attacked !Russia is tied up in Ukraine and can't afford a direct confrontation with the West, Xi is winding his neck back in now he's realized that China is nowhere near as strong as he thought it was, neither have any great love for Iran, neither are going to come running to their aid.
If anything, by trying to de-escalate and avoid conflict, we're making ourselves look weak and encouraging the likes of Putin to push the boundaries, perhaps if we'd sanctioned Russia properly in 2014, and stomped on Iran earlier, then maybe everything that's happened over the last 2 years could've been avoided.
We have been attacked, not directly, but Ukraine and Israel are ultimately attacks on the West in general, and if we let those attacks go unanswered then the future attacks will come closer, and closer to home.‘Making ourselves look weak ‘ …..we, as in the UK, haven't been attacked !
But Israel struck first with the Iranian embassy in Syria, so why would we not expect a retaliation from them.We have been attacked, not directly, but Ukraine and Israel are ultimately attacks on the West in general, and if we let those attacks go unanswered then the future attacks will come closer, and closer to home.
Every single US president since WW2 has been a patsi for Israel, so cognitive decline has little to do with it. Trump was an even bigger patsi for Israel moving the embassy to Jerusalem. If trump was in power Russia would already have taken Ukraine, and probably Georgia, and maybe even the Baltic states and would more than likely be eyeing Poland.Biden told Iran not to attack and he also has no influence over Israel. This is what happens when you have someone weak and obviously in cognitive decline in the Whte House. For all his faults it could have been different if trump has won and Russia might not have dared to attack Ukraine.
its about time that israel was made to lie in the bed that it keeps making for itself. I find it outrageous that The RAF is intervening on behalf of Israel. But Israel struck first with the Iranian embassy in Syria, so why would we not expect a retaliation from them.
This retaliation was handled in a way to cause minimal damage, let’s move on.
No, Iran struck first on 7/10 through its proxy Hamas, and in fact many times previously in the form of rocket attacks by Hamas and its other proxy Hezbollah, the Syria strike was an attempt to prevent more of the same. But Israel struck first with the Iranian embassy in Syria, so why would we not expect a retaliation from them.
This retaliation was handled in a way to cause minimal damage, let’s move on.
So you're in favour of Israeli civilians being killed by Iranian missile attacks, and think Iran should be allowed to organize attacks on Israel free of any response by them.its about time that israel was made to lie in the bed that it keeps making for itself. I find it outrageous that The RAF is intervening on behalf of Israel.
Weasel words. A consulate is a sub Embassy and Israel knew it would lead to retaliation. You'd be OK if they bombed the consulate in Manchester? They didn't.
It was a non-sovereign "consulate" that was being used to co-ordinate Hamas and Hezbollah attacks against Israel, and seems to me an entirely legitimate target.
When the RAF get involved surely that needs a Parliamentary mandate? When was that?its about time that israel was made to lie in the bed that it keeps making for itself. I find it outrageous that The RAF is intervening on behalf of Israel.
Is the Manchester consulate being used to direct attacks against Israel?Weasel words. A consulate is a sub Embassy and Israel knew it would lead to retaliation. You'd be OK if they bombed the consulate in Manchester?
Whatever gave you that idea? When the RAF get involved surely that needs a Parliamentary mandate? When was that?
If we are involved in acts of war abroad there has to be a mandate. Is the Manchester consulate being used to direct attacks against Israel?
Was the Syrian "consulate" even an official consulate?
Whatever gave you that idea?
Whatever gave you that idea?If we are involved in acts of war abroad there has to be a mandate.
I've seen it reported that it wasn't, in any event, the fact that it was being used for military purposes strips away most of, if not all, of its protections under international law.As for the consulates, who knows? Maybe. You know for a fact that that was the case in Syria?
I'd wager that every one of our consulates has a military attache. What's the difference?Whatever gave you that idea?
Can you show me the mandate for WW1, WW2, the Falklands etc?
I've seen it reported that it wasn't, in any event, the fact that it was being used for military purposes strips away most of, if not all, of its protections under international law.
Spot on, as if they get bombing raids all signed off by the international community who didn't bother to do it themselves.Like the legal position matters, don't be so naive
The last Labour government took us to an illegal war
No one cares what's legal when it comes to blowing people up
Sorry but that’s just rubbish.Every single US president since WW2 has been a patsi for Israel, so cognitive decline has little to do with it. Trump was an even bigger patsi for Israel moving the embassy to Jerusalem. If trump was in power Russia would already have taken Ukraine, and probably Georgia, and maybe even the Baltic states and would more than likely be eyeing Poland.
