Did he come on a dingy from France?Wasn't he actually Turkish?
Bloody foreigners, coming over here killing all our dragons
FTFY…and the post was pulled!
Unbelievable.
His application to stay hasn’t been looked at yet, due to the backlog.Did he come on a dingy from France?
Good job we didn't sent him back
Being slightly serious for the moment, I don't actually have a problem with St. George as our patron saint, but, although as a non-conformist Protestant I'm not really that bothered about Saints, I do think it would have been nice if we actually had an English born patron Saint, someone like Aethelstan, Cuthbert or Thomas BeckettWasn't he actually Turkish?

I treated a girl like a Princess once, Princess Leia, but only because she treated me like Jabba The HuttThank you !
She’s very loved up right now, and he treats her like a princess, in a good way. Nice lad.
That, about sums it all up.

Ah yes, the Welsh songstress. I bet she rattles one out on St. David's day.
Good. The flag needs to be reclaimed from those knuckle-dragging, intolerant nobodies. As for Laurence Fox, if I never watch Lewis again it won't be soon enough and I have a lot of time for Kevin Whateley and Rebecca Front.Sadik Khan is happy we've reclaimed the flag from the far right...
Sadiq Khan: I'm so glad we have reclaimed St George's flag from the far Right
England is a nation small in size but grand in vision. On this day of celebration, it is an opportunity for people to come together and mark with joy our country’s traditions, culture and history.www.standard.co.uk
I suppose it's good people are actually embracing it, even if it's just always been the countries flag and should always have been.
What far right?Good. The flag needs to be reclaimed from those knuckle-dragging, intolerant nobodies. As for Laurence Fox, if I never watch Lewis again it won't be soon enough and I have a lot of time for Kevin Whateley and Rebecca Front.
I don't understand your point.What far right?
My point is that i travel all over the UK, i speak to thousands of people and I'm yet to meet one of these far right people that i keep reading aboutI don't understand your point.
OK. I have not been near any for years. Perhaps, like you, I am very discerning as to where I go.My point is that i travel all over the UK, i speak to thousands of people and I'm yet to meet one of these far right people that i keep reading about
Not really i travel all over the place, maybe there really isn't such a thing and its just a lazy label that's used by the mediaOK. I have not been near any for years. Perhaps, like you, I am very discerning as to where I go.
They seem to have been having fun in Central London today.Or maybe there really isn't such a thing and its just a lazy label that's used by the media
Maybe in the 1980s but i don't see much evidence of the far right these days
Far right? They seem to have been having fun in Central London today.
Me? I say it can be a number of things that sometimes combine but not always.Far right?
How do you define Far Right?
So we don't really have a massive far right movement then?Me? I say it can be a number of things that sometimes combine but not always.
It can include a desire for strong, authoritarian government. One that does not require an electoral mandate. Or at least, an accountable electoral mandate, free from bullying and threats of violence.
It usually also includes a mythological adherence to a belief in a past time of greatness, borne out of racial strength, purity and conquest.
It can include the belief in a "superman" leader to take control and make the country great again.
It always involves a blame culture, where those blamed for a country's ills are seen as non-conformists, aliens who would swamp our purity with an unwanted and alien culture.
The adherents to far-right beliefs always see themselves as the indigenous, original occupiers of a land that is being mistreated and brought down by externals (immigrants).
Anyone and everyone that belongs to a community, group or interest outside of the perceived interests of the far-right are to be shunned, fought and made illegal. They may be other religions, trades unions, socialists, Conservatives and even artists.
Those are typical far-right tropes. What is your definition?
Massive, no. Persistent, yes. Also, some of those indicators do span across a fair number of people in our society. Think Brexit. So we don't really have a massive far right movement then?
Cheers
When things went so far to the left, the far right then became virtually anyone else who disagreed with them, when infact a lot of widely held views classed as far right these days are perfectly reasonable. My point is that i travel all over the UK, i speak to thousands of people and I'm yet to meet one of these far right people that i keep reading about
I would say a very very small minorityMassive, no. Persistent, yes.

2% of 60 million is 1.2 million. Hardly "a few thousand".I would say a very very small minority
60 million people in the UK
Far right probably a few thousand say less that 2% of the population
Its hardly worth all the fuss yet i hear the far right mentioned daily
The Brexit comment is complete nonsense as millions of labour voters also voted for Brexit are you saying labour voters are far right?
Jesus probably did exist, Allah is Arabic (and other languages) for god, so almost certainly doesn't exist, but you're probably confusing him with Mohammed, who almost certainly did exist.St George is like Jesus and Allah, probably didn’t exist.
However we should be proud and not ashamed of our country/Britain so why not celebrate.
If it’s today we celebrate then so be it.
