I’m sure this will have come up before, however I have just found out that Alan Carr is the son of the very unpopular BFC manager Graham Carr.
The shortest serving Pool manager until Appleton I believe.I’m sure this will have come up before, however I have just found out that Alan Carr is the son of the very unpopular BFC manager Graham Carr.
Indeed he is, he's also as annoying as the football his father's team produced!I’m sure this will have come up before, however I have just found out that Alan Carr is the son of the very unpopular BFC manager Graham Carr.
And he hates football and Blackpool! Time to reassess I think!Only thing i like about Alan Carr is his connection to BFC
He wasn't Player Manager. He was about 50, and with a pot belly. Was anyone else shocked when we brought in Graham Carr as player manager.
Didn't Alan Carr slag off the town then not long after return to turn on the illuminations?
To be fair, he'd probably have made a better job of playing than he did at managing! He wasn't Player Manager. He was about 50, and with a pot belly.

Jimmy Mullen brought in Billy AyreHe had only 16 games in charge but won 5, so his record wasn't the worst in history. I was there at the time but cannot remember the reasoning behind his sacking. Always thought of him as a southerner as he only managed down south before he came to us for some reason, but he was born in Corbridge. Was it his decision to bring in King Billy?
I once found a shit load of Russian words, I never managed to put them together into a meaningful sentence! He was credited with finding all of Newcastle’s talent when they were flying high
He's been a scout for Newcastle, mainly bringing in French talent. He had only 16 games in charge but won 5, so his record wasn't the worst in history. Carr, Mullen, Ball, Worthington, Ince, Hendry etc, we've had many that could lay claim to being the worst!Mullen was worse than Carr in my opinion.
Colin Hendry has been on Radio Lancs quite a bit lately and clearly thinks a lot of himself. If you pushed him he would definitely say he did a good job at Blackpool!Carr, Mullen, Ball, Worthington, Ince, Hendry etc, we've had many that could lay claim to being the worst!
I meant that as in the fact his father was our gaffer, I cant stand that Alan CarrAnd he hates football and Blackpool! Time to reassess I think!
Keeping us up that season was more accredited to his assistant Len Ashurst than Mullen, we went down like a lead balloon the following season when Ashurst left for Cardiff.Colin Hendry has been on Radio Lancs quite a bit lately and clearly thinks a lot of himself. The last time I saw him, he was sheepishly sneaking into corporate for Oyston hospitality on one of the judgement day protests .
In defence of Mullen , he did keep us up the season Sam Ellis left.
Yes very true although he did get the Burnley job on the back of it. He brought Eyres in as well. They loved him at Burnley for a bit but eventually showed their displeasure by trying to set his wife on fire.....Keeping us up that season was more accredited to his assistant Len Ashurst than Mullen, we went down like a lead balloon the following season when Ashurst left for Cardiff.
I saw an interview once with Graham Carr saying how he had hoped for his son to be a professional footballer but gave up when he realised he was closing his eyes every time he went to head a ball. A very believable story!I know he's Graham Carr's son but as mentioned above it's hard to believe.
