The podcast are professional podcasters that have been doing podcasts for years. We are youtubers that do things as ourselves. What you see on this video is me being me, Jane being Jane and Brett being Brett exactly as it would be if you sat with us in a pub.

It's never going to be professional like the podcasters. I have never said it would be? I promoted it as a fun night with Brett where you would get great interesting stories.

I'm struggling to understand what structure it lacked we started at the beginning of his career and ended at the end?

At least you now know not to bother tuning in for any more and that's no problem with me. We do things our way, we have no intention of being similar or the same as any one else in my opinion that's just boring.

Some will enjoy, some will be haters. I'm not interested in making stuff to please the haters I make stuff the best I can for the people that enjoy it.

We had a great night, Brett loved it and all I'm getting this morning is some nice messages from the 1K Blackpool fans that have watched it so far telling me they had a great night too.

And I'm more than happy with that 🙂🙂🧡🧡

Yeah I have to agree here, I regularly watch the Seasiders Podcast and don't really watch Lee's channel but the way two of them have acted on this thread is a bit bizarre to be honest, and as you say disappointing. The fact they re-streamed their 2012 Ormerod interview the night before Lee's combined with the way they've acted on this thread doesn't strike me as a coincidence, and comes across extremely petty.

If they want to highlight themselves as the professional Blackpool FC content creators, they should let the content do the speaking as this tactic hasn't covered them in glory.

I didn't "hate" it. And I like the enthusiasm. But if you won't listen to constructive feedback and criticism you won't get far. Having a good structure is not just doing things in the order they happened. You could have been more imaginative than that.

If you have a thousand people telling you they enjoyed it, fine. If you enjoyed it, that's better. It's your time, after all.
 
Just to be clear, I wasn’t commenting on behalf of the pod. I like a lot of the video stuff and granted I only saw a couple of minutes, so maybe should have watched the whole thing. 👍
 
Similar to Coppice, if people are enjoying it crack on Lee, I just found it hard going.

Below are a couple of really enjoyable Brett podcasts. Both are quiet similar in nature but are far better in their production and running than Lee’s or The Podcasts. I don’t say this as a knock, only to say it would be great if both of you could get to this standard of production about all things pool.

Maybe an idea not to be too dismissive of those who have offered criticism, as if it's constructive it might just help you further improve your already huge lead in the BFC content on the internet stakes.

Echo others, brilliant stuff. Probably best interview I've watched as proper down to earth guy who really is a seasider legend.

Loved it with some great stories.. looking forward to future ones.

Im happy to take criticism Im just not understanding what you mean by structure? This was a LIVE chat we asked questions and let Brett answer them and take them in the way he chose to.
We allowed viewers to ask questions and tried to fit as many in as we could the whole idea was for it to be interactive and fun.

We have fun doing what we do and like I said if there are 'haters' (and seeing as you said you don't watch us I wasn't actually referring to you) they don't concern us. We like bringing joy whenever we can. Our show is just being us and our love for everything about Blackpool Football bar the Oystons

If you do things in life that you enjoy and have a great time doing it and if people buy into the fun and enjoy it then that's 'good enough 🙂

Hinestly, I don't mind criticism I just don't understand what they mean by structure. It came out better than the way I planned it.

It was LIVE not edited, Brett's airpods were causing some strange interference, we are trying to get the Live questions answered and have no control over what people ask or at what time they are asked. If he was in my studio it would be my cameras, my lighting, my microphones but at the moment in lockdown that's the best I can do I can't control his sound his picture from a phone (but it's still amazes me that we can video call at all even if its not perfect yet).

I get told I should let the guests talk and I've taken that on board. I try and make things better all the time but I will always just be me and I used to love Timmy Mallett so being compared always makes me smile 🙂🙂🙂
 
I see Lee as a beacon of positivity for all things BFC. I like his approach. As said above all the Pool podcasts/Vlogs etc have their place and I for one appreciate them all during these times. In a way they are replacing the contact and social exchanges we would have pre COVID. Add to that it’s a mood thing (a bit like music) in regard to my taste. Sometimes I’m in the mood for Lee‘s content, and sometimes the Seasiders Podcast...I’m yet to explore the other one. Keep up the good work Lee, Jane and other Pool broadcasters.

Exactly I hope many more do it if they enjoy it. Nothing wrong with collaborating on things either.
I watch the seasiders podcast a lot and often tell our viewers to go and watch their review after we are finished because its good 🙂

Exactly this is exactly what I have said further down. If Brett was a guest in my studio, with my lighting, my cameras and my microphone then the whole thing would be more professiona. But we are in lockdown on a zoom call on Brett's phone.

Also this was LIVE not prerecorded when we are out of Lockdown and I have a proper studio it will be 100% better. Whether we can ever be that good?

Who knows? but that was the first LIVE one that we have tried, we enjoyed it and Brett enjoyed it so we are doing the best we can with what we have (for now)

Yeh fair enough Lee, I get it must be challenging maybe the Live angle didn’t quiet work. I know I’d rather have pre recorded stuff that has had the time taken to get it just right.

I watch both channels when I can, fair play if you point people to the Podcast, makes their pettiness look a bit childish on the thread.

I didn't know about them repeating the 2012 interview, that's clearly not a coincidence and I won't be tuning in to them again.

Yes I would love having the money to be able to pay editors and cameramen and sound engineers. You want to see the True Geordie podcasts he has 5M subscribers he has an amazing studio, guys that set up his studio, lighting, microphones. Someone there through the show switching his camera angles from cameras that are worth over 10K each with lenses.

One day that would be my freekin' dream. He didn't have that 10 years ago just ranted about Newcastle from his bedroom.

Now he has the money to be as massive as he is. That's my dream 🙂

I do understand about size, and it seems you have a decent set up already.

The two podcasts I linked are fairly small and have managed to arrange well edited and produced shows. I don’t think it’s out of yours or the Podcasts reach to attain that if you both so desired.

Again it’s a shame the podcast felt they needed to go after yourself. I think they feel a little behind the curve looking at the disparity in subscriptions.

My point was just that, both Lee and Podcast could probably do similar (on a smaller scale) to produce better quality stuff.

Like I know the Podcast has started doing that with some former Pool players in a more professional way, I hope they can both grow in the future.

Should be good craic is all. I ** hate pushy stuff that's all about self promotion and I don't get that vibe from either. I enjoy both in different ways.

Obviously the forthcoming Mitch Cook's Left Foot members club* will blow both of them out of the water, but that's just the cut and thrust of the media for you.

* A snip at a mere £50 per month.

I appreciate the efforts of all the podcasters/vloggers or whatever you want to call them and will watch them all from time to time and certainly enjoyed the recent interviews with Charlie.

When I saw the repeat of the Brett interview I thought that all might not be well in podcast land but wasn't sure and now others have confirmed that.

Yes they will be sponsored, probably not a one man band either. Trust me when I can set up with my cameras, my lights, my microphones and not be relying on Internet zoom calls on people's phones it will be so much better in quality.

Surely lockdown can't go on forever.

I'm pretty sure the podcast is bigger than us. Podcasting is not really youtube and their audience will like listening to podcasts in their cars etc.

I like making movies, like making match day vlogs and filming. I loved doing that last night warts and all. Putting their Brett interview up didn't bother me because its not like me, they are nothing like me and I can't imagine them wanting to be anything like me!! 🙂🙂

I promote their show because its good and I take no offence from any of this and I will continue to try and send then traffic by giving them a mention they are seasiders and they do a darn fine job.

Watching our watchalongs are just like coming to the match with me. I react exactly the same way as I do at a game. I celebrate goals, have a go at the ref, the decisions and if we are hanging on and they are all over us you will need some stress pills

I do all this because I enjoy doing it. Would love to get 5M subscribers and have an out of this world production for y'all but for now stuck at home in Lockdown we will do the best we can and have fun with you guys just being how we are.

It made no difference 2020, I wasn't bothered about it. The only competition I have is with myself because there's only me that can be me. I like the podcast and often watch it. I see Tim often we used to watch the South being built together quite a lot as we were both down there many any evening. I've said hello to John a few times but don't really know him. They are all a pretty knowledgable bunch well worth a watch 🙂

yes it was a problem coming from Bretts AirPods for some reason? it sorted itself when he lost connection and continued without the AirPods
I will do my best to post up an edited version over the next few days as it was okay when Brett was speaking

I will have another look later Lee. I was wearing big old headphones last night and it was really dominant through them. I'll carry on without them when the kids are in bed!

John's Podcasts are great, I've watched programs he does on season reviews from early 90's, I've already mentioned the Charlie interviews and the preview and review programs are good and without knowing him personally he seems as sound as a pound to me and I don't know of anybody who suggests otherwise.

All his regular colleagues on his programs - including Tim and his son who nobody could have a bad word for - are also good chaps and most of his guests are too with the exception of the little Welsh chap.

BUT

I don't think that putting a repeat of the Brett interview was a nice move and the rules do state that I am entitled to be offended on your behalf.

I am glad you are happy enough with things Lee, as I've ready said, I don't think you should be so dismissive of constructive criticism but I always enjoy watching your programs and appreciate the efforts of Jane and yourself and of all the others who produce BFC content for supporters.

What I was questioning was what structure would they like to see

Merely stating it had no structure is as vague as saying it was rubbish it just doesn't mean anything.

I've taken lots of constructive criticism on board and will always listen to feedback

Things like I watched it for a minute and turned it off because there was no structure

Doesn't make any sense

It was exactly what it was supposed to be a nice relaxing chat with Brett. Unfortunately there was an audio problem with Brett's airpods which was out of my control but it only affected us it worked fine when Brett talked so when I have cleaned things up I will repost it.

It's difficult on zoom calls to get clean audio when the guest is on just a phone. When the world is back to normal and I can interview people with proper microphones and film with my cameras then the quality will be as good as Higgy in the Armfield Club 🙂

No problem, I wouldn't have a clue on the technical side and I just felt that you may have been too quick to dismiss what could have been constructive criticism but you've explained things there and I certainly have nothing to criticise you on and apologies if my original criticism was OTT.

I always enjoy listening/watching to your watchalongs and Mondays and another good thing is that I've never seen any big fallout on either.

Can get heated on a Monday but you keep it all in check.
