China crisis
China Crisis ?. Wow. One of their songs, Christian. Is right up there in my all time favourites. I had it in my head. Had not heard it for years. Did not know who it was. Then my Mrs was playing a cd she had just got. It was on. My Mam had died a couple of days before. It was one of them shiver moments. Still is now. Next one I am going is a Queen tribute.

Me and my lad have looked at that fest, looks a great line-up.
Have you been before? If so, do you know how often the shuttles run between gig and camp site? We like to have regular sloths back at the tent!

Mate it’s the best small festival around, (about 5k capacity). We’ve been to the last 4. An older demographic than say Beat Herder, but they know how to party. There’s a fair few younger ones but it’s principally 40/50 +. The shuttles are new this year because they’ve expanded from 2 fields to 4 fields to give everyone more space. It will only be about a 15 minute walk from campsite to festival site with the Village of Stanhope bang in the middle. I’m sure the shuttles will be very regular, it’s a brilliantly run festival and incredible value for money. If you go, let me know and we’ll have a beer together 😎

The Enid! Jeezo completely forgot about them and used to have a couple of their early albums, pretty sure they played (proper) Jenks, did I make that up or anyone else remember? Going to have to do some delving, don’t have the vinyl anymore sadly.

Hardly anything booked (got sick of stuff being cancelled) apart from Northern Kin festival at Stanhope on the same site as the Stone Valley festival the week before. It was fantastic last time. 17th-19th September. Looking forward to that one. Plus a few visits to the Waterloo pencilled in, for The Urban Voodoo Machine in October & Wishbone Ash just after (if they are actually on, as it's still not showing on the Waterloo website)

Theres Elvis night at the 'Stute and Dave the barman does a great 'Way Down' , which is popular with the blue rinse set who like to sit on the front row with their milk stouts.

Never really emulated the great nights when Bernard Manning did his turns although his Jewish jokes did upset Manny Abraham who owned Layton Jewellery Box.
