We are having a great season so far.
But our delivery from corners have been very poor.

I used to score quite often taking a corner with a wicked swerve, especially when playing down wind!I may be wrong, but I think we've scored one (own goal) from a corner & none from a free kick.
In my younger days playing amateur football, at a decent level, I played with many players who could take better corners and free kicks than we currently are. Is it that we don't have a player with the natural ability, that is then coached to a high degree of skill?
We watch the ladies football on TV & there's plenty of players who take excellent set pieces.
You can win and lose games at set pieces and over a season it's an important skill to have.

Wow tango do you know me and the standard that I played at - before I got old and my knees ache? No I thought notNo, you didn't.

I played with many players who had played in the old 1st division downwards (City, MU, Brighton, Wolves, Bury, Ipswich, Chester, Crewe, Wrexham etc) and a couple who played internationally.
It actually wouldn't take much for a player to take more productive set pieces than we currently do & if we add this to our performance, it will without question, gain us several points before the end of the season.
Your comment of 'no you didn't' was off the cuff and with no knowledge. All against the backdrop of them taking those corners against players playing at amateur level, rather than prime Championship level players.
I bet Keogh would look like a dead ball expert at amateur level.
striking a dead ball isn't difficult
I've always said that if the corner wasn't working then just put the ball in one area and let the players sort out dealing with it.Wow tango do you know me and the standard that I played at - before I got old and my knees ache? No I thought not

Agree Insider - love to see some of your stats which says how many times we've lost possession from a corner! We're not very good at throw-ins either
I doWe’ve always been rubbish at corners probably why we don’t sing ooo it’s a corner anymore
I only copy the stats from elsewhere (Fotob) and I whilst I'm sure what you want will be available I don't know where.Agree Insider - love to see some of your stats which says how many times we've lost possession from a corner!
I seem to remember we scored more than a few corners in the Prem season, mixing it up between whipping it in and playing it deliberately to the near post for one of our players.
"His corners alone are worth £10 million" Alex Ferguson. That's because Charlie's corners were incredible.
The old adage is true with you - "never argue with a fool"; especially an insulting keyboard warrior. In response to my lighthearted comment, your 'prowess' comment is just pure petulance. No doubt there's room for improvement with the delivery. With that said, only 5% of corners lead to a goal, so I think people have a distorted view of how regularlywe should be scoring from them.
What I'm really contesting is the fact you played with better dead ball strikers than the current team has, which then turned out to be a way for you to declare your prowess.
Striking an effective dead ball is though, which is why it's such a prized attribute to have in a player, and also why it's so rare.

BFC has analysts and I'd hazard a guess that Critchy is quite demanding in his requirements for data.
Personally I'd like my analyst to look at how goals are typically scored at corners (if there is a typical).
One very simple thing I think we should do is always have someone deep beyond the far post to attack the many over hit corners.
I seem to remember Kelvin Mellor liked to ghost in at the far post with a bit of success.
Yes, Carey and Dale, I reckon. Both seem to have quality of delivery. Based on not much yet.David Eyres and Charlie Adam the two best corner takers I've seen for us. I think once Carey is established he will be our go to set piece man.
Tom Mayhew was a good man.Re- your penultimate paragraph, Insider.
I remember Mr Mayhew at Grange Park 60 years ago telling us that when we're taking a corner to always have somebody stood at the far/opposite corner of the penalty area primed and ready for the ball that evades everybody in the middle of the box!

I really liked Ian Marshall and he put everything into his short stint with us and retired after lifting the LDV . I cant say I remember his set pieces too much, I seem to remember him as a real handful for opposing defenders. Another who could be brilliant on set pieces was Kevin Sheedy though way past his best when we got him.Onlyonepool
I would have to say that the best deliverer from a dead ball situation that I have seen playing for the pool has to be Ian Marshall.
Simmo weren't too shabby.Onlyonepool
