Get your cheeses in early for Xmas

Yes, have a good one Skiver. Big family probs at the mo' with mother on her way out, so mind not as much on the gastronomic as it might be. So, I've bought a Dewlay Lancs mild, Garstang Blue, aged Double Gloucester and a Cret Gruyère. Here's hoping for a quiet Christmas.
Have a good one, you and yours.
Evening ‘66, I’m very sorry to hear the news about your mum. I hope that she will be made as comfortable as possible. It is a remarkable coincidence that finds me in the same situation with my own mum.
By mid October, the progression of vascular dementia was raising red warning flags all over the place, so we had begun discussions with Social Services with an assessment for residential care in mind.
Before we could make much progress, other medical issues suddenly became acute, leading to a couple of weeks in the Vic, for “optimisation” as it appears to be called these days, then discharge to a care home for assessment of her longer term needs.
Sadly, the manifestation of symptoms means that she has moved into the terminal phase and timescales can be more predictable.
She is comfortable, which is all that we can hope for now.
.C’est la vie as Dave Miller would have said.
Anyway, all the best.

Thanks Skiver. I think we're on the last lap.
