Call me old fashioned that strikes me as excessive.
Not much return from it either.Call me old fashioned that strikes me as excessive.
But, he is very, very good at it, turning up that isAdnan Januza was on £45k a week when he was 23 at Utd...
Joe Hart get £50k a week....and all he does is turn up for practice....
When salaries are reported they are very rarely, if ever, net.Case in point:
Leaked report claims highest paid League One and Two players
Spending in football has been a topic of discussion since the coronavirus outbreak with clubs putting staff on furlough leave and player wage deferrals being discussedwww.manchestereveningnews.co.uk
(Not clear whether these figures are net or gross … guessing Lubala’s is net, the survey gross)
Yeah, reported … but when he’s giving evidence in court he may just say what lands in his bank account every weekWhen salaries are reported they are very rarely, if ever, net.
I think he just said he was being paid £1800 pw.Yeah, reported … but when he’s giving evidence in court he may just say what lands in his bank account every week
Jesus im a joiner and thats a lot unless your house is a vast.Got a quote from a decorator for my hall stairs and landing and bedroom the other day and that was 1900 plus materials. Likely take him five days to do, so 1800 a week seems fair enough for a professional footballer.
Net or gross, it’s still too much.I think he just said he was being paid £1800 pw.
No need to over complicate it.
That puts your decorator on around £98k a year....was he wearing a mask when he quoted...and I don't mean one of these...Got a quote from a decorator for my hall stairs and landing and bedroom the other day and that was 1900 plus materials. D you know any loft insulation installers?Jesus im a joiner and thats a lot unless your house is a vast.
If you want a number for a decorator give us a shout I’ve had full houses done for less.
Unless he has staff working for him and you live in a very large house, that is an excessive quote.Got a quote from a decorator for my hall stairs and landing and bedroom the other day and that was 1900 plus materials. There’s quite a few companies that are doing loft roll in Blackpool for free as government are paying for it to lower energy use.D you know any loft insulation installers?

I’ve actually had four quotes that have ranged from 1800 to 2500. It’s not a big house, standard 3 bed semi, but I’m guessing it’s got a fulwood premium (maybe they’ve spotted the pool pictures up!)Jesus im a joiner and thats a lot unless your house is a vast.

And how are you qualified to know this exactly? Will it balls…
I’ve had a 3 bed terrace fully decorated in 10 days…
I’m a psychic (part time only)And how are you qualified to know this exactly?
A psychic Gobshite, great combination!!I’m a psychic (part time only)
I always wondered how you knew everything about everything.I’m a psychic (part time only)
A qualified voice of reasonIm not interested in P & D these days but it would be best to list what needs doing.
Old wall paper removed
Prepping in case, cracks, re plastering.
Wall paper, backing wall paper.
Who many doors. I always do three coats.
Walls, ceiling, how many, rough area, coats as above.
Just remember quality costs.
I'm hearing the word.....**I always wondered how you knew everything about everything.
Not qualified as in qualifications but having done mine and relatives in the past I know the amount of time it takes to do a good job and a not so good job. Always said it, people on here want things on the cheap or free.A qualified voice of reason
How much is your day rate or hourly rate down South. That does sound a high hourly rate, not just there but down here too where wages are high and property prices extortionate.
My business does a lot of hard landscaping and I have really good trade accounts with big discounts so I can still make good money and charge the client no more than they would pay if thy had to get it themselves. If I can't get a trade price I get the client to pay directly as it will save them money and me time and effort as I'm not going to provide products without a mark up.
I'm not sure where he is getting his hourly rate from though!! That's without any materials and seems absolutely incredibly high, Even if he is doing 8 hours a day without a break, which is highly unlikely that's £47.50 an hour if he's working on his own. That is if it is only going to take him 5 days, which to be fair should be about right for those 2 rooms even if the Hall stairs and landing can be a bastard. Preparation is key, he needs to do that properly and that can take time if you have to strip off old wall paper etc., but even if he is it would only be an extra day if anything.
There must be someone on this board who is a decorator than can come and give you a quote? It's not exactly a long way is it and even if you paid them an hour a day for travel on top it would be a lot less than that.
Agree...Not qualified as in qualifications but having done mine and relatives in the past I know the amount of time it takes to do a good job and a not so good job. Always said it, people on here want things on the cheap or free.
I think the assumption a lot of people make is that expensive = quality. Not qualified as in qualifications but having done mine and relatives in the past I know the amount of time it takes to do a good job and a not so good job. Always said it, people on here want things on the cheap or free.
for landscaping? £25 an hour so £175 for a 7 hour day, I would say we are mid/top end. I charge more for design and have an hourly rate for gardening. I charge VAT on top too, which I would have thought the guy in Fulwood would too if he is charging those rates. I also charge more for design work. To be honest in the last 6 months I tend to be working off site as I have so many projects to design and cost and sort out suppliers and also plants, etc., I try and do 2 days a week on a project or in a garden a week, sometimes it is more, but really it needs to be 2 maximum, preferably 1 so I can do all the other stuff. Fortunately I have a really good team who work for me.How much is your day rate or hourly rate down South.
hat is very cheap that's only £12.50 an hour, £20 an hour would be minimum here.I think the assumption a lot of people make is that expensive = quality.
The bloke I use charges £100 per day…. He’s quality.
Yep…cheap as chips and he doesn’t hang about either.hat is very cheap that's only £12.50 an hour, £20 an hour would be minimum here.
So between 175 and 210 day rate, I think I would go with that up here for most trades. Like BFCx3 says he knows someone good for cheaper, like I do for some trades but know they will charge their normal day rate for others. If two people are on the job then it is roughly right. My mate has an apprentice and several staff to pay, should he not cover his costs or make a profit.for landscaping? £25 an hour so £175 for a 7 hour day, I would say we are mid/top end. Edit to add I charge £30 an hour for me for gardening and more for design. No one has ever baulked at that.

Thing is though TITD, not only are some of them charging the big daily rates, they drag the jobs out as well.So between 175 and 210 day rate, I think I would go with that up here for most trades.
