Preston Police have put some details of the policing for this fixture on Twitter this evening ; the Old Vic, the Station and the Adelphi are the designated pubs for Seasiders fans.

There will also be three cordons in place from 5.30 that evening to restrict access to the area around the away turnstiles ; no ticket for the away end, no access. Cordons will not be relaxed until all away coaches have departed after the game.

Blackpool fans can only enter the away end through the turnstiles at the junction of Blackpool Road and Lowthorp Road. Preston fans being asked to use routes to the game that take them away from the cordons.

Train in and out for me.
Bus replacement service ruining that line so you might want to check.

Looks like some sort of damage limitation exercise by plod where every other away fan is pretty much welcome, although it might have been different for a Saturday 3pm ko.

Personally I'd have told the Old Bill to stuff it if I was BST.

On holiday mate. Coming in from Grange over Sands.

Over the last few years when it's been mentioned about keeping away fans held back after the game it's been said apparently by plod "They can no longer keep fans in the ground after a game as it can be seen as unlawful imprisonment!".
So if it is not unlawful as I would imagine it isn't for safety and prevention of trouble why do the police in Blackpool not keep away supporters in the ground after matches???..

BST. who?
The OP. Up to them but I think its time Blackpool fans took a stand against the police who've been letting down supporters for a long time, and where every other club is free to walk the streets of Preston and enjoy the pubs and bars.

"Take a stand against the police"...............................what are your suggestions?

The vehicle is there-the Trust-but the secretary is too busy willy waving on here.

One thing they could propose and its in keeping with current practice, is for the formation of an independent police group consisting of the local professional clubs,so that issues, crowd control, dealing with arrested fans etc is discussed and solutions found.

Too many of the BST committee are tied up with forums, running the Armfield and of course playing keepy uppy with the FSA but it would certainly have an impact at BR matches.

I’m not sure about the detail in your post, but I do think the general theme of it makes a decent point.

The Trust seems to have totally lost sight of why it exists and has become sidetracked away from what ought to be its key priority…

Blackpool Supporters

The clue ought to be in the name…..which seems to have shifted to the:-

‘National Governance, Government Lobbying & Forum Moderating Trust’ 😂

There doesn’t currently seem to be anyone out there who is prepared to speak up for Blackpool Fans right now…. Perhaps there’s a gap in the market for someone?

Come on, it's just common sense. If all football fans could be trusted to behave (esp' after a few beers), then yes, we could all enjoy a stroll to the ground and back again. Until then, accept it for what it is.

Do you have an axe to grind X3? It is feasible to stand up for Blackpool fans whilst also supporting the improved governance agenda.

How about you put forward your proposal to BST?

Yes, I do…(I’d have thought that much was obvious)

I’m very disappointed that Trust which was formed to provide a voice to Blackpool Supporters and had fantastic intentions and which has enjoyed such overwhelming support from our fanbase, appears to have completely lost sight of why it exists.

I’m sure it is feasible to stand up for Blackpool Fans whilst also supporting the (insert you own opinion) governance agenda…. So why aren’t they?

Keep your hair on mate. If you are a member of BST then raise your concerns at a BST members meeting. Slight dig here Committee, it's about time a members meeting was convened, not to consider proposals that you are proposing but to see how members stand on a range of issues. A survey alone won't deal with members' concerns.

Ah, so it is not actually a stand against the police that you propose but the creation of another forum that you can find fault with.

I don’t have any hair…

I’ve raised the issue with BST already and if you don’t mind, I’ll continue to bleat on here about it until something gets done about it.

I’ve relinquished my membership because of the issue and will be delighted to rejoin as soon as I see the Trust re-establish Blackpool Supporters as their number 1 priority.

Anything that improves things for football fans gets my total support and must be inclusive of course.

Things that Seds,Tony and very possibly the current secretary just dont seem to understand.

I did think hard before engaging with you on this. Regrettably it was a mistake. You only ever come on here to criticize and when challenged, change direction and run down another blind alley throwing out little barbs.

In the words of a current TV programme, "I'm out."

Come on chaps, putting your case from the inside has got to be better than bleating from the outside.

PS. I would never suggest that people shouldn't post on here - except for offensive stuff obvs.
Like I said, I’ve done both… And to be honest, I’m inclined to think that bleating on here is far more likely to result in positive action than private communication.

I’m struggling to understand what the problem is to be honest.

If you prefer to dance around the houses when you have an issue, that’s fine by me. I’d be grateful if you’d afford me the same courtesy 👍

(And just to clarify, given that you’ve lumped me together with the other poster ‘nameless’, I don’t share a lot of his/her opinions on BST).

I have afforded you the same courtesy and worded my post so to do. I don't lump you together with Nameless, save to note that you are now both shouting from the outside.

From memory the last time I went to Deepdale they let you out of the ground but then corralled you in the street behind the stand. It's a subtle difference and even then I'm not exactly sure it is legal to contain you like that unless there is an on-going safety concern.

It’s perfectly legal to do it as clearly there is a potential public safety / public order issue. It would also be fine to hold people back temporarily simply to avoid crowd congestion, let alone potential violent flashpoints.

It just doesn’t even feature as a human rights issue at all.

I would imagine letting football supporters that have history betwee them out together at the same time is a safety concern for public order.
