Rosenior turned us down

I mean it makes sense. I guess the worrying thing now is if he does come then great, we’ve give him what he wanted or there’s at least been some sort of compromise, but if he doesn’t come I can’t imagine his demands being too excessive. What are we offering?

It’s been on the cards since last week to be honest.
You don’t get a manager being tipped at 1/10 on with the bookies then nothing happens.
Massive disappointment if true, just what is it with these No2 positions whats so attractive about them? 🙄

The whole football world knows what our current training ground is like. That shouldn’t be a deal breaker surely?
Course it would be. Managers would want the best facility possible to work with the players, allow the players good recovery sessions, attract players to the clubs etc.

Sounds like there’s still a chance it could happen, explains the delay
Sounds to me like the usual negotiations between parties - assume personal terms aren’t an issue which is good. I’m sure if he is the no1 candidate agreement can he reached - also means it’s not Appleton thank god! I do wonder what the training ground issue(s) could be - maybe does not want to use squires gate at all?

Negotiations are often give and take, but the worrying thing here is what is being leaked to the public domain. Is the initial rejection fact or just media bollux? If the latter then live with it and just wait for the outcome, BUT if the former the source of the leak needs to be identified and dealt with, otherwise the whole process is undermined. If the leak is a sufficiently serious matter, the plug will need to be pulled on the whole deal.

Take everything with a pinch of salt, some journalists were saying he was about to unveiled on Monday and look how that turned out. Wait until a manager is in place

It's either a made-up story or Rosenior is leaking stories to the press. If it's the leaking to the press, I don't think it's a good way to start a working relationship, maybe time to move on to someone else.

If that's true then we should look elsewhere......it is important to get someone who is fully committed and prepared to work with what is available. I get the feeling he is playing for time while the situation at Derby County is sorted out. There are supposedly 3 potential buyers for Derby and you would assume Rooney would be the first to know if he had the backing of one or more of them. Also, read that there has now been some Government intervention to get a deal done at Derby so it is more likely to be resolved with the highest bidder getting the nod.

I'm leaning towards made up due to the line about the training ground. I mean we've literally just announced that we are having one built, so what else can we do.

"LR has turned down the Blackpool manager job, as currently offered. Talks ongoing..."

AKA We've offered it to him and negotiating terms.

I hate journalists sometimes, the only reason to word it like that is for clicks.
Plus, there is no negotiating over the training ground - it is what it is and can't be built overnight. It isn't something to negotiate over. So I'm instantly smelling bullshit with the entire comment by this particular journalist.

If you had reservations about certain aspects of a job, maybe you would discuss them with a current colleague?
Surely if you had reservations 1) you wouldn’t apply 2) you’d talk to your prospective employer, not your current boss, who, let’s face it will try his best to turn his head back towards Derby!

surely our situation is lot more inviting than the shit show going on at Derby….
oh, and 3) we could all be wrong and this is all made up bollocks
