Burnley v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 20.08.22

Said on Tuesday afto that my heart thought we'd get beat at QPR, but my head said a win. And today both head and heart agree, a defeat is coming.

I think in some ways it will similar to Swansea, we've got to be happy to let them have the majority of possession.
If we set up right for a few counter attacks down their left side we might nick something, Id be happy with a draw but I feel we could potential nick all 3 points. Yates to bag today 🤞🍊 #UTMP

I'm pretty sure that's about the strongest 11 we could put out, the only surprise being Corbeanu instead of Carey. Strong bench from what we've got left, I don't think we'll be seeing Bez again anytime soon

That would be my preferred starting 11 with what we have. I had Carey as the number 10 but I think Corbeanu is actually a slightly stronger option with Carey playing a part later.

I actually have got a theory on why Corbeanu is starting instead of Carey, I think is MA is using Bowler in the AM role for his pace and trickery and he’s actually putting Corbeanu in the RW role because he played there for MK dons. I could be wrong though.

Pleased with that team. Was hoping for connolly and Dougall in midfield to tighten the ship. Gabriel is a great pairing with bowler...I think bowker always looks more effective with Gabriel giving him an option wide instead of always coming inside.

Bowler, Jez, Big EK and Lavery, one each. 4:0 to the Pool 🧡🧡🧡🧡

i think that would make sense, bowler behind jerry and shayn is a pretty exciting attacking trio

What sort of a player is Corbeanu? Not worked it out yet?
Unsure myself on this one as well. I think hes a right winger by trade but will hold my hands up if that's not correct. Has been more miss than hit in the games I've seen but still very very early days

The BBC have us as a 4-2-3-1
Gabriel Ekpiteta Williams Thompson
Connolly Dougall
Bowler Corbeanu Lavery
Yates

But what do they know?

Pool end looks full. Giving it large.

Ive got ice cold warsteiner in fridge and i will cheer on from my armchair. Come on you pool!

A long ball all the way over the top and a ridiculous ‘top bins’ finish from Brownhill. Not sure if there was much we could have done about that. It’s early days.
