Coventry v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 29.10.22

We are certainly more attacking than last season although we look shakier in defence. It’s what we as fans wanted - creative attacking football and we are getting it.

Madine missed a few chances today (although not as many as Connolly) but was immense. Defenders just can’t cope with him - you can build your attacking patterns when you know the CF is going to win a high % of headers.

Great result, looked much better than Coventry. Missed a few to say the least but we are at least making all the chances. Shame that Dougall will be suspended for the next game I think

i can definitely live with 'we back ourselves to score more than you'. we've proved that we can do it and more of the same please.

it also happens to be the mentality/strategy that got us promoted to the prem.

Husbands cross wasn’t even that good it was flat and low and probably mishit in all honesty but Gaz has this knack of adjusting his headers last minute with the ball mid flight.Because the cross was flat Madine could use that pace on it and just concentrate on getting underneath it and getting the right sort of flick on it.He knew where he wanted to put it and he executed it not an easy thing to adjust in such a short reaction time.

CJ had a superb game both on attack and defence.
He didn't though really did he.
There was a number of occasions he bottled the tackle or didn't bust a gut to keep possession.
His cross was sublime but you can't say he was superb on the back of that.

But the fact is Connolly is a threat from full back, and we need goals from all over the pitch.

Just for once admit you were talking shite.

You are the first to call others out but can’t take it when you do it!

Everybody was excellent today but those who really deserve special mention for me are Thorniley, Carey, CJ and Madine. A brilliant performance and thoroughly deserved .
The only bit of weakness was being done for their goal.

Overall we look far better at the back with the current line up than we did with Thompson, Gabriel and Williams.

Still all have parts to play though.

Without being too critical about the first half misses, that’s the best performance this season & a fully deserved win, against a decent Coventry team. We’ll done to all. 👍👍👍
I think the Watford game was the best performance of the season, closely followed by Burnley and Sheff Utd.
