I watched them again early December when I had covid. And again had forgotten how brilliant both series areI’ve just re watched season 1 and 2 in anticipation, forgot how good it was .
Expecting a very intriguing final season.
Grab some popcorn and hold on tightSome of the best twists I have seen on TV have been in happy Valley, both season 1 and 2 were phenomenal twists that I really couldn't see coming at all
It probably is, and I usually shy away from that kind of thing, but it’s very in context and real I guess. It is still to this day, the most violent drama that I've seen on TV.
She’s ace in thisI’m definitely in. First two series were brilliant, although the last one seems like ages ago and I can’t remember how it ended! Love Sarah Lancashire.
I was shocked at the level that they took it to in series 1 but justified and not gratuitous. It probably is, and I usually shy away from that kind of thing, but it’s very in context and real I guess.
I cried when I re-watched season one with the brutal attack on the young copper and later on the attack on the wonderful Catherine Cawood ( who is my hero, even though she’s not real ).
She’s a brilliant actorThere's an interview in one of the Sundays today with Siobhan Finneran ( who I find rather attractive) and is really interesting
Full on psychoBrilliant series. Tommy Lee is one hell of a bastard
The scene in the last series, where the female officer was deliberately driven over twice by the horrible Tommy, was gut wrenching.Tonight at 9, BBC 1.

The first series made him yes, think he had done a few bits by the second series. Plays an evil nutter very very well.Think it was you who got me hooked on this Lala.
I thought season 1 was the better of the 2 to date, but S 2 was still very good.
Looking forward to it, and seeing how James Norton comes across. He's famous now, whereas iirc this was the series that made his career.?
He's played mostly good guys since HV, but he's a very good actor so I'm sure he'll be just as good in S3.
I’m definitely in. First two series were brilliant, although the last one seems like ages ago and I can’t remember how it ended! Love Sarah Lancashire.
Yep, set the scene well, some funny bits too, aswell as the grim bitsGood 1st episode that
Omg Kirky yes, absolutely.Never seen it….. should I? Looking for something else to watch
If ever I had a career change to a psycho Tommy Lee would be my role modelFull on psycho
It’s the best, and the worst …..Just started on series 1 tonight after having it recommended, 3 episodes in and I’m gripped. That poor police officer
Your new hearing aid wouldn't be the reason would it?Noticed she spoke a lot clearer tonight. Not as much mumbling.
We’ll give it a go tonightOmg Kirky yes, absolutely.
Get on iplayer and watch series 1 and 2 immediately! You will not regret.
Recently rewatched Rita, Sue and Bob too.. dated but very funny! There's an interview in one of the Sundays today with Siobhan Finneran ( who I find rather attractive) and is really interesting
I know what you mean about that strange air. It has a beauty about it, but it’s a stark and cold beauty.Calder Valley was my old sales territory in my first job out of university, free trade sales for Webster's brewery. It always had a that strange air about it, particularly in winter when hillside pubs losing money would mysteriously catch fire. Places like Todmorden, Pecket Well, Mytholmroyd, Triangle, Lumbutts.
Isn’t it justFinished 1st series tonight. Fantastic.
Watched S1 episode 1 last night. Very good - a lot going on for a little town going to watch a few later, as we’re away for a few days in the Yorkshire Dales and it’s pissing it down!Omg Kirky yes, absolutely.
Get on iplayer and watch series 1 and 2 immediately! You will not regret.
Yep, exactly the same. Only watched one so far - hope the girl is okay! Pretty gripping stuffI binged the first series yesterday, after reading this thread. It’s a great series.
I remember seeing the ads for it when it was first on, and thinking it was some kind of happy, idyllic, rural story. Wow!
Really enjoying this… the guy who plays the accountant - we cant’t work out what we’ve seen him in before?Tonight at 9, BBC 1.
