Not wanting to rain on the parade but he has to be called out in the future if.

1. CJ ever plays wing-back ahead of actual wing-backs ie the magnificent JG.

2. Callum Connolly plays ahead of actual footballers.

3. CJ has to play with no defensive duties (he caused havoc tonight)

He has shot himself in the foot in a way tonight putting CJ on upfront as he looked like a different player in actions and not having to worry about his positioning.

Not Connolly's worst game but I don't think he is ahead of anyone in any position.
 
Was a different game and the rock defender had to come off so it was a good opportunistic move with CJ.

Gabriel is awesome no doubt.

Callum fought hard and didn’t back down which we needed in a game like that. Plus buried his pen.

Fact is, it’s a squad game now we can’t just pretend every game is stand alone, pick the best 11 on paper, when it’s actually the middle of a busy season and the squad needs to be managed and rotated.

Critchley cant do right for wrong on this site, you talk about Connelly like you could do a better job - just makes me laugh

So he is our best defender and he was our best wing-back at one time and he is our best mid-fielder is he?

All I want is CJ out of our half and he doesn't have the skills or mindset to be a defender,
He has to be given the best chance to use his pace and it's wasted back there.
As for the stage of the game, it was then how many times has it been said by us a knowledgable lot on here to bring him on when the other team is tired?

Well you are raining on the parade.
Once again we get a “well deserved” win and there is always someone who wants to find fault.
He brought CJ and Kouassi on because he obviously felt they were there for the taking which, in my book, is good management. If he’d have sent 2 defenders on for the last 20 mins in the hope of holding on for penalties then again it would have been wrong, but he didn’t and we went all out for it.
A few on here scream out that CJ should be playing on the left but thank fcuk Critch is his own man and sticks with his plans. CJ scared the life out of those defenders when he came on.
He gets unnecessary criticism from all quarters and yet he, along with Connelly, who also gets dogs abuse, scored two great penalties to set us on the way.
i just wish people like you would just give Critch a break
He is doing a good job and if people cannot see the progress he is making then they must be fcuking blind or they just don’t like the guy.

It's a footy message board and like you I have an opinion and mine is that Critchley is mismanaging players in a system that doesn't suit them which was born out tonight and if you don't get that then I feel sorry for you.

I'm a massive fan of Carey especially in his first season here but l have to say his performances are very hit and miss and l really hoped he was going to kick on this season especially when we dropped a league. Sadly he hasn’t and l hope he doesn’t waste the talent he has but clearly he is underperforming.

I have to say I though Kouassi was excellent when he came on
Led the line impeccably after it just came back at us in the first 60-70 mins
As was CJ but perhaps that’s his best role - impact sub as once the defences tire and he’s still fresh he’s a real handful
He’s not a wing back

Interesting you say that. Last season I thought Carey was a bit out of his depth, but showed enough to suggest he'd pull this league apart. He hasn't done.

The wing back system does not play to our strengths. Gabriel and CJ down the wing would be great for league one.

We would comfortably be in the top 6 playing a normal 4-2-3-1 formation.

If i am or I'm not is irrelevant i make comments on the club and players and games as i see it and if i feel strongly about something i will say it, i respect everyone's opinion because that's what this site is all about. your right and so am i

Livery chases everything so ok for him to come on for the last 20 minutes if required.
Carey not ahead of Morgan at the present time

Didn’t want to mention last season fcb because it was just total shit with players underperforming across the squad and many being played out of position by the 2 numpties, who plays Carey and Patino as the 2 holding midfield players like Applecart did at Watford?🤷‍♂️🤬🤦‍♂️

Agree. He played the players we needed when we needed them. CJ is made for coming on second half and running defenders ragged. And penalties is not a lottery… it’s confidence based and them two scoring gave us the confidence to keep our composure (as it dented theirs) and seal the victory. Well done the lads! 🍊
 
Connolly is not a great passer of the ball , he can't dribble , he isn't particularly fast . So why does he still get played . Its because the manager knows more then the couch potatoes who have nothing better to do then criticise him . He gives 100% every game ,he puts himself in the firing line for cards when a rough tackle has to be made and he is always getting injuries from getting stuck in .
There is no other Blackpool player that does this as much and you need players like that . Its ok noticing a bad pass or a player skinning him , but few notice the way he gets stuck in . That's why I think Connolly gets a regular game and I think the KFC and pizza munchers should leave him alone.

There are a couple of players who get unwarranted criticism and CJ is another and they call themselves supporters
They don’t know the meaning of the word!!!!!!
I can accept opinion but it goes way beyond that when Critch announces the team before kick off, he gets criticised.
He makes a substitution, he gets criticised and win , lose or draw there are always some who find something else to find fault with.
It really does piss me off big time when that happens because we have no idea what the fuck goes on behind the scenes. Posters say CJ should play on the left, how on earth do we know that he hasn’t said to Critch “Boss, I do prefer to play on the right if that suits your plans”
A player doesn’t get picked so the assumption is that he doesn’t like them. If he didn’t like anyone they wouldn’t even be in the squad
If you are supporters then support the ** team and everything that comes with it from owner right down to the tea lady.

Fans have ever right to be critical of the manager if they think he's ** things up

We are 8th in the 3rd tier we should be doing better

Cj for example just isn't a wing back and plays much better further forward like he did last night, that's where he should be, attacking and playing high

The tempo last night in the second half was fantastic and it got the crowd going that in turn made us play better, too many times this season we have been negative and slow just recycling the ball and passing sideways for the sake of it

Believe it or not some fans actually watch football and have every right to voice concerns

Reminds me of Hendry when he came out, having never been involved in L1, saying something like 'I didn't get to where I am today without knowing football' in a Reggie perrin way. Fact was, he'd never seen L1 and the fans actually knew more about the league than he would ever learn as it turned out.

Moral: Don't dismiss the opinion of fans.

Good post, i totally agree but comments on here you have to take with a pinch of salt because no disrespect to people on here and many other football forums a very large percentage of people don't know much about football, how it is played, formations and what goes on behind the scenes, believe me CJ will play where he is told to play. Critchley can only pick 16 for every game and some players will be disappointed but that's football. No football player is perfect but at least give them your full support.
I agree if your a supporter support the team and the club
