Next 2 matches season defining

Why stop at fixtures 1 and 2? Fixtures 4, 5 and 7 hold the same weight.

I’m not a big fan of the use of “marquee” and “statement” signings but if ever there is a time to invest in one who can come in and immediately improve the first XI, then now is that time. It’s worth a £7m (80%) increase in revenue. You don’t get those sort of risk/ reward in hedge funds. Hopefully SS is ready to risk for the reward.

It won’t take much to give us a nudge before the window shuts but as lack of attacking options at 1-1 off the bench said it all. Speed in attacking positions and a central midfielder please.

We brought on a right back and Matty Virtue.

Get that banking app open Sadler 🙏🏼

Because you lose the next two and fixtures 4,5 and 7 become less relevant.

Lol you guys are CJ's biggest fan one week and he's the scapegoat the next... 😅

Not looking forward to playing you lot at the moment, we're still in no mans land with a new manager and too many bloody injuries.

No mans land is where CJ currently spends too much of his time.

When you say "No man's land", is that an instance of you making a rather cryptic reference to those areas of the pitch CJ invariably tends to frequent during matches these days ? And, if so, I rather fear your stab at poetic license may just be a bit lost on our current 'trusty' RWB - or whatever position he's supposed to be 'playing' these days ...

Probably just as well, eh? I fear the more literate-minded CJ apologists out there, reading that, might well be up for storming the barricades ...

No it’s you talking rubbish
By that, I take it you mean BillyRonsonNo7, along with several hundred other equally perplexed/bemused followers present at BR on matchday, having to witness the 'clueless one' attempting to impersonate a professional footballer.

CJ scored a great goal against Stevenage in the home game so I think they would be delighted if we left him out. The next two league games are massive but also the rest of February with some tough games. Just hope Jordan Rhodes is not too badly injured as we are going to need him back to his best to keep the momentum going.

CJ just lacks a bit of consistency. I think he’s had more good games than bad.

Ultimately that’s why he plays for us and not a bigger team

Excellent (rubs hands together in a Mr Burns type way) mwah hah hah hah 😁

To have two playoff 'six pointers' in a row is a season defining period as it can give us all the momentum or effectively rule us out of contention barring a miraculous run.

I like CJ and I think he'll keep his place but there is a good argument for having Coulson and Gabriel as wingbacks and Joseph and Dembele alongside Rhodes. If Rhodes is struggling I wouldn't mind Joseph leading the line with Dembele and CJ either side.

On Saturday our bench defenders were Gabriel, Pennington and Connolly. (Add in Lyons too)

Our central midfielder bench were Virtue and Carey.

Forward options were Dale and Lavery (No KK or Bees)

When we sign new players which existing ones should go out of the team and which of the bench out of the squad altogether?

yes to a great extent these next two games are massive. To lose both, i don't think we will, would make that gap so much bigger and take a good run of successive wins to get back into contention. Looking at the L1 fixtures coming up a good few teams are stating to play their games in hand. Play as we did last saturday and we are well capable of winning both games but I doubt the opposition will allow us to dominate in the way that we did against Charlton.

I don't blame CJ in anyway as he is what he is. He should have one role and that is not RWB.

Fair point. Briefly outlining the current stuation in the way you have has, rather belatedly, enabled me to see things for precisely how they are. So, I think it's fair to say I maybe owe CJ something of an apology.

What I am struggling to grasp, though, is why it should be taking so long for Critchley to recognise (and act upon) something I suspect dawned on you - and doubtless a host of others - many moons ago?

Perhaps someone needs to have a quick word in his shell-like?

Trust the process, even if you have not got a scooby doo how it is meant to work.

A lot of our fans are incapable of finding a middle ground. They either hate a player or love a player.

you could perhaps say the same about a manager.
I actually don't think anyone "loves" Critchley. Some certainly hate him.

With him it simply comes down to those who think he's the best man for the job and those who don't imo.

Do we think having won that game that it will breed confidence or the fact it was that intense will leave us a bit leggy?

In fairness to @Tangman74 - he was spot on with the o/p as if we'd have won both games we'd now be 5 points better off and knocking on that Play Off door. Missed opportunities against two very average sides.

Not really as thanks to Saturday's result we're still in with a shout of the play offs. If we'd won those 2 games and lost at P'borough then we would
only be a couple of points better off with 39 points still left to play for.
