Fleetwood Town

Possible but doubtful, I think there will be another 6 matches after they play us that’s another 18 points to play for. They are currently 7 points from safety with 6 to play before us on 23/3.
 
It's funny actually, I was watching this the other day again. What you notice is the bullish attitude of the Fleetwood fans, still riding the wave at that time, before it all started to crash down on them more recently. I doubt they'll be quite so enthusiastic in some of their chanting against us this time....


Also, the makeup of the way the stadium was filled was very different to today.

In the north, A block almost empty and the south full, I know it was early after coming back but interesting to look back.

The irony being I spoke to a Cod fan after the game got pulled and he said the young lads weren't certain starters!
It's a stupid rule anyway as under 21's don't get counted in your squad numbers.
Fleetwood have had all of their games called off on International weekends so not looking good.
Last one-
Bristol Rovers' home match against Fleetwood Town scheduled for next Saturday (November 18) has been postponed due to international call-ups in the Fleetwood squad.
 
Really couldn’t care less about Fleetwood. Relegating them on a par with relegating Charlton when we drew 2-2 thanks to a late Lee Hughes equaliser at the Valley.

I feel nothing towards them. A pub team that would be playing on common edge without Pilley’s money that he robbed from charity

Well you want us to win and that helps them on the way.

Many would like to see it though, especially after some of their mocking in the past etc.

Even them being a small club, they are competing to attract kids around Thornton etc, it may only be a small impact, but if it helps BFC grow even a little, that'll do for me.

One last thing, imagine Allez and Jaffa on here, it's worth seeing it for that clash alone.

So if we can add to their misery then all good.

Had another Fleetwood lad as an apprentice today & told him I hope they manage to avoid relegation, it would be a major coup for Charlie. I'm really not fussed, obviously when we play them I hope we batter (see what I did there) them.

If you remember the first few games A and B block were away fans
Tried to get it changed for Southend but the Ground Safety Officer wasn’t in favour as the tickets had already been issued
Took us a few games to get it changed I think
 
Both clubs in a different place now, we've gone up and come down and have lost that initial buzz that was around back then, which was always going to happen somewhat.

We need to get it back though, need to get a series of decisions right.
 
Maybe they might actually spring a surprise?

I remember some of the score predictions from earlier in the season predicting a 3 and 4 nil some even 5 nil win for us but we were 2-0 in the first few minutes.

And people wonder why I never do score predictions. 😮

From a Blackpool point of view, I don’t care either way about Fleetwood. If they go down then I hope they go back to non league where they belong so they don’t steal any potential young supporters. If they stay up then they lower every teams average home attendance with their 100 away following while slightly increasing ours.
 
They'll struggle to bring 1000 and whilst it might be a chance to relegated them, the liklihood is our season will be over also.

A few wins could do it...for a bit... although it's going to be hard to get that sort of energy he had first time here, which we need really, when fans, club, manager, players are all together.

We probably qont get that without a fresh start manager wise.
 
Why do people think we are better than Fleetwood? We are both in the same league with not much hope of promotion. Yes they might get relegated this season but there is nothing to say it couldn't be us next season if we still have this clown as manager. Championship security for us is a long way off, getting promoted this season would just be an embarressment next season as there wouldn't be any, or very little investment as proved the last time we were in the Chmpionship.

What makes you think we could get relegated next season? Genuinely interested as we are nowhere near that at the moment. What seismic activity is going to happen between now and then? Couldn't give 2 shits about Fleetwood by the way...

Citchley as he will still be here next season, this coupled with a distict lack of investment from TPTB. The only reason we are where we are this season is because of Rhodes.

Why call the game off due to international friendlies. Do matches get called off due to injuries, no so just play the game FFS

The only thing silly about this is that people willl continue to give money to the club even though, there doesn't seem to be any interest from TPTB to transform the club into something more than what it is. It''s like some will accept anything now because it isn't the Oystons. Yet fail to realise that league 1 is probably the best that they are going to get. But hey ho carry on

In what way are we comparable in any way to Fleetwood, other than temporarily in the same division?

It's ludicrous to compare the statuses of the two clubs.

One has over 130 years of League football, while the other has been bankrolled into the League through criminal proceeds and is now rightly returning from whence they came.

That has absolutely nothing to do with accepting where we are. In fact, that's more proof. We're not happy to be here, Fleetwood are delighted to have reached these heights.

They are working hard to deliver on all levels.

We might not have seen the best of certain things yet due to some results and some mistakes, but the effort is there.

"All members of staff at the club - both football and non-football - are working tirelessly to ensure every supporter has a club they can be proud of."

The big projects are coming, I do hope the east isn't as small as the minimum stated though.
