Policing the match

So, will they keep Bolton in after the final whistle, or will it be the usual face off on Bloomfield Rd and surrounding area ?

The latter. Then surprise expressed by the match commander in the Gazette, as he just didn't expect it.
if Bolton win they will still be in the ground celebrating.if we win then Bloomfield Rd will need heavy policing.

It kicked off on Tuesday night against poxy Peterborough as not a single copper on the corner of Henry ST/BR bonkers.

Old bill allow away fans to come out and walk straight up towards the Armfield club all singing and taking the piss it’s bound to happen. They should have riot vans blocking Bloomfield road and direct away fans to come out and turn left towards central drive it’s not rocket science.

In fairness a riot van was on the corner of bh st & Bloomfield rd & arrested a couple of posh fans who got a bit “rowdy “
I was pretty angry after the game and result but hearing the posh fans chanting can we play you every week after we beat them on Saturday along with one of their fans dressed as a banana cheered me up & chilled my out a bit

Spoke to a mate of mine who is a local sergeant, and is on duty inside the ground on Saturday.
He said they are expecting trouble, but wouldn’t be drawn on where and when, and what plans they had.

I think it's going to be "mayhem" on Bloomfield Road after the game if the police don't keep Bolton in while the South Stand clears.
One person has already died at this fixture........ONE TOO MANY!!! 🚌🧡

Hardly rocket science is it? Close BR for a period and use 5 or 6 Tensor barriers to block away fans from walking towards the Armfield.

Problem solved.

Not sure what that plan was on the way out. Stopping Bolton fans coming up Bloomfield Road but sending them down Waterloo, so they were looping back round onto Bloomfield Road anyway. Have they learnt nothing from the Preston fiasco when they did the same.

They are thick as mince. Stopped us going down a side street near Seniors Chippy and told to go to Bloomfield Rd. Asked why, they said to ‘stop fans clashing’. When I asked why we were being sent to their entrance. No answer.

Row of coppers best street let us down. There’s not much keep their ears apart really.
Same question, have you tried doing the job?

Unless they keep away fans in there will never be a perfect policing, the stadium layout and the away fans location makes it near impossible. Didn’t see any trouble on our way out, I hope all the tangerine family made it home safely 🤞

Well I know not to let the opposition fans out to mingle with the home fans at the end of a football match. Clearly Lancashire police don't know that. Dopes
I would not call them dopes, it’s the orders from higher up that will determine what to do and what not to do.
A percentage would agree lock away fans in or steer them away from the Armfield.
Unfortunately it’s not their call.

Pre-match parked off Rigby Rd and made my way to the stairs just by the bridge.

Two coppers on duty there stopping Bolton fans accessing it to Bloomfield Rd.

Let us through when we said we were home fans and then revealed that there was a massive Police presence in attendance today (approx. 300).

I jokingly replied that they would still let the away fans out at the same time, for it all to kick off in the usual hotshots... they laughed and indicated that this was down to the numpties in charge.

To be fair, Notlob had all but gone by the final whistle, as if not, it would have been carnage on Bloomfield Rd, as the South & West empty that way.. Plod had a lucky escape... well not the footsoldiers, but the Chiefs, who even after Hillsborough get it wrong, all over the country, week in week out....

Fair play police got it right today after the game
I Agree....the fact most Noltob's had already gone home helped matters.

More "Good Luck" as opposed to "Good Management"....me thinks🤔

Anyway 4-1 win is my main though of the day.

Hey "Mosser & TAM".....is it still "CRITCHLEY OUT"......Only Asking🙄

I spoke to two plods on my way home from the game and asked them why there was so many of them. They said they were expecting trouble, but reckoned the big presence of old bill had worked so far. Anyone know if there was any problems later in the evening or owt?

We always come out of the south , then straight down St Heliers opposite the BFC hotel . Yesterday for some strange reason we were met by hundreds of Bolton coming the other way heading back towards Bloomfield rd . Fortunately no issues , but not sure how this happened .
