Red Card? 🟥

Not being funny but has anyone who is moaning about it actually watched the video?

You can clearly see he takes a look at where the defender is and jumps with his arm into his face! At the end of the day hes given the referee a decision and he didn't need to. Cost us 3 points and promotion and shouldn't be allowed to set foot in Blackpool ever again.
Don’t be so bloody ridiculous.

I disagree.

Beesley was fouled seconds before, had his arm around Beesley neck, then pulled him down. Never a red, at worst a yellow but we NEVER get a red rescinded. Cant ever remember one for us, not even Lavery who was punched at Sheffield utd!

Knob!

Play acting at its finest. Also, from the ref's starting position I dont think he would have seen contact. JR is a model pro so never openly challenges the ref. He is bothered about what his actions say to young players. (unlike some I could mention)
He walked off like he didn’t really give a shit.

I'm sure Sadler knows some useful people, the kind of people who would, for example, kidnap someone's loved ones before an important event to make sure said person was under no doubt about which way decisions should go at that event.

You are a smelly knobber now fook off.

I know the ref, was in the year above me at college at myerscough, he was the only lad out of the 2 years (we played together) who didnt play football on a football course, was always a ref and an arrogant little prick then and yes he is a knobber
We won’t but we should kick off about putting Preston fans in charge of our games.

That's not harsh enough, he should be taken to Dumpdale, hung, drawn and quartered, then stitched back up and be hung drawn and quartered again. This may sound harsh but fair as all reasonable people would agree!!

You really are an idiot !

I've just watched it on video and my view hasn't changed. No foul.
Tbh it was difficult to judge from the camera on TV, but although he led with his arm, it appeared straight which would rule out an elbow wouldn't it? Would have got proper scrutiny under VAR. Assuming there's an appeal, I'm not sure what additional camera angles will be available to help his case. People knock VAR, but in the EFL, we have to put up with dodgy decisions week in week out without any sort of meaningful assistance from technology.

He's more likely to do an analytical study of the incident, get a professor to write a thesis and present it to the FA sometime in, say, August. 😂

Shocking refereeing decision from a biased Preston official. I was right behind it in the North Stand and it was an absolute joke of a decision!! Email the EFL with disgust like I have at: enquiries@efl.com

Looks like he just jumps for the ball like any striker would, your arms naturally go out cause err, that's how jumping works. Absurd decision.

I know you are a WUM but have a look at this video

How many times has Jordan made that type of header. Looks at the defender for his position, jumps and has a straight arm, not swinging backwards, as if he's fully expected the defender to also jump. We'd all expect the defender to challenge, he doesn't, and looked to have a nibble on Rhodes before screaming bloody murder.

No he didnt

This will only raise suspicion about his decision. Still you think he'd know he'd be under a spotlight with a game like that and try and be professional, so maybe he's just incompetent and was fooled by the player... 🤔

Was all too happy to send off a player who doesn't show that type of violent conduct though.

Maybe he should just go back to doing sunday league games on Moor park the prick.

Raffertys play acting did not help ,he knew what he was doing .

Rhodes jumps and gets the ball, their cheating player misjudged it a bit and is then off tumbling down on feeling a bit of contact, then takes Rhodes down as he's actually in behind if the ref doesn't give it.

Could have been a foul to us, but even if it's a foul to them it's not violent conduct and not a straight red.

Just watched it back and Beesley was in a headlock and Rhodes jumped with a straight arm. He jumps like this every time he wants to leave the ground, it was far from dangerous.

Free kick to pool for the initial foul and we move on.

Definitely something suspicious about a new referee with links to Preston.

EFL corruption at its best.

Pne fan referee sends off for the first time in his career Jordan Rhodes a Blackburn legend now playing for Blackpool for a foul at best ..

Doesn’t sit right with me this at all .
And the Portsmouth player who went down to get Jordan Rhodes sent off was previously a knob end player

Never in a million years was it a red card offence. He led with his arm, fair enough but it wasn't a swinging arm. Less of an offence than the head lock on Beez a second before!
That's the point. It would be irrelevant if the ref had done his job and awarded a free kick to us, as he should have.

I’ve seen people roll around less in Afghanistan under fire - just saying!

When is this simulation going to be gripped!

The Referee ruined what was going to be a really good game - no matter which way the result went.

When oh when will the professionalism cascade down to officials - it may not be Premier League or Champions League but these crass decisions do affect people’s jobs and careers. It’s just not good enough.

Really proud of the team sticking through that!

Referee may well be form Preston but he is a Blackburn Rovers fan. Factamundo. I know that because my pal is his mate. Told my pal to give him some pelters.

He walked off because he knows the referee wasn't going to change his mind.
From where we sit, we could see Rhodes face when the card was issued. It was clear it was a total shock to him and he looked in total disbelief. However, as the total professional he is he walked, as a referee never changes his mind.

The club has to appeal because the decision is wrong. Do I think it will get overturned.... No, but you have to object to total incompetence.

Beez scuffle = 6 of one half a dozen of another.
Jordan doesn't swing an arm and uses no forward projecting force. The girly Pompey player rolled round like he'd been shot & that influenced the ref (who BTW should go to Specsavers).
We now have to win this game the hard way, which we're capable of doing.
The red will be overturned on Monday.
UTMP
If u remember the away match they dived at every opportunity and had rightly their own player sent off audit could have been 3 players = WE ALL HATE P/Mouth — cheats

Preston referee objects to foul on player who played 60 times for Preston North End … at Bloomfield Road. On those grounds alone it should be overturned

Not much to say about the ref that hasn't already been said. He was the most incompetent ref that we've seen all season and by that i don't mean biased. He was just sheer incompetent and the game and this level of football was way too big for him. He was awful for both teams. We all believe it was never a red card and i really hope it gets rescinded but the Portsmouth players I'm sure[ apart from that cheating git Rafferty] will feel equally aggrieved at some of his decisions. Gabriel goes down at the far post defending a cross and their guy pretty much did nothing wrong except try to win the ball yet he gets booked simply because Gabriel went down. Same with Dembele. The incident was right in front of me and the guy barely touched him, Dembele goes down and so the ref books their player. Just awful decision reacting to Dembele going down and to the crowd. He was poor with Grimsaw too, clearly time wasting when he went down but I suppose he had no choice to stop play. That said, should he really have allowed our two trainers to come on? Another frustrating one was when Byers broke free and was being pulled back. Ref did well waving play on but then he should have come back and booked their player.

Are there assessors still at every game? It would be fascinating to hear what he had to say? Do they actually converse with the ref after the game or is it all done by a report. Whatever, he certainly needs to be stood down from league football for a good period of time.
