Any reasons why we can't make the play-offs?

Shit referees is one reason we might not.

But tbh I've seen nothing from any other side this season that makes me think it isn't possible. Even against Peterborough who I'd say are the best side we've played, we very nearly overcame a 3 goal deficit with ten men. Our team is 100% capable of finishing 6th.

It’s not because of games against the top teams where we have done well ..it’s the 1 point off port vale Leyton Orient and the horrendous away form..we won’t go up and will probably finish 8th or 9th

Its not too late. Before today it was 7 from 10 and now its 7 from 9. Today's performance was encouraging but how many poor midweek games have we had after a positive performance the previous Saturday? Not confident but definitely do-able.

Still possible, but:-
Feel the top 6, three with a game in hand, will be hard to catch.
Northampton turned us over convincingly at home.
They'll still believe they can make the playoffs.
There's a relatively short turnaround after playing for an hour with 10 today
Its a Tuesday away fixture
JR won't figure for three games

Did Northampton really turn us over? A husband mistake gifted them the win after we were on top.

Get your point, KB, but felt, despite the stats, they looked sharper, had a more effective game plan and deserved the points on the night. Perhaps "convincingly" is a little generous, but I wasn't surprised when they wrapped it up soon after we eventually equalised.
We'd just won at Portsmouth; this performance was an "after the Lord Mayor's Show" moment in our inconsistent season

Convincingly? That's more than a little stretching it.

I’d say the biggest reason why we can’t make the play offs is the fact we are playing catch up with games running out (& the target team above us have a game in hand).
As it turns out Stevanage’s game in hand against us will now be away at Carlisle, because of the Cods call off.

Still think we're reliant on others - however if you take the last 10 games, Stevenage have 15 points and Oxford 11 - for me, they both have trickier games coming up and so you might be looking at 73/74 points with the team with the best goal difference going in to the play offs which would need us requiring 6 wins from 9 games or 5 wins and 3 draws. Not much room for manoeuvre and 3 points on Tuesday would be massive.

If we play like we have against Peterborough (second half), Bolton and Portsmouth we will be in the top 6. Oxford and Stevenage shouldn’t be above us. We’ve let them in. But I think the squad is now coming to fruition with new signings Coulson and Byers getting a run of games under their belts. If we continue the hard work off the ball intercepting and smothering teams like we have in those recent performances I don’t think anyone in this league can handle us. Hopefully husbands injury isn’t too bad and Rhodes red card gets rescinded.

I think we will appeal the red card, is it really 3 games?

Three of Stevenage's next four games are against Peterborough, Orient and Bolton. They've also got to play Oxford and Barnsley.

Oxford have also got Bolton and Posh as well as Stevenage and Lincoln, unbeaten in 11. Points will be dropped by those teams.

We need at least 4 points this week and then perform away at Derby to give ourselves a chance. By the time we visit Oakwell for the penultimate game we'll know if we're still in the running.

We are at home to Barnsley for the penultimate game.
I’d argue we need 6 points this week

Quite right, I'd forgotten that we'd been to Oakwell already and, despite scoring only 20% of the goals Lincoln did we still got 100% of the points.

6 points would of course be great, but 4 still makes it possible. We'd need a fantastic April of course.

We live in hope but I think we've left ourselves too much to do.

A season of missed opportunities with the away form, sadly.

After today's battling performance, 9 games to go, and 27 points to play for - surely we stand a chance of sneaking in with momentum behind us? I think we can do it.
Not if we have any more ' no shots on target " games like yesterday and several away games.

We certainly need to win next two away... no ifs or butt's... needed. So will tinkerman pick same team as pompey? Or throw some of his mates in? Tues has to play right team and and tactics must be.... attack as need to win.. win and could be 1 pt behind 6th.. yes 2 games more but need to win

I’ve not had any problem with the starting 11 he’s put out for a while. It’s important to understand rotation at this stage with consistently busy schedules. Casey showed that whoever comes on is ready. CJ didn’t look good and so he was left out. No problems at all.
