Won’t admit it was never a red. Interesting to see if they have an explanation for the ref being from Preston. Probably not.

Depends on the images they see. If they only have the tv from the east, there won't be enough evidence to doubt the ref's decision, sadly.

I'm sure we'll get our fourth apology this season from the PGMOL. Think where we'd be with those extra points these fools have cost us.

It should 100% be rescinded but knowing the efl I’m not holding my breath. It stinks to high heaven

It won’t be. Said it on another thread that the Bolton one was overturned on the technicality of the double jeopardy rule whereas they will just say Rhodes had his arm up so was endangering his opponent.

From the replays I've watched his arms are straight & he sort of swivelled round. I'll stick with my initial view of it from the North & we wondered what on earth we had missed, in truth nothing. 700+ games without any red cards should also have a bearing on the outcome. It HAS to be overturned & give the player who's rolling around cheating a retrospective red card & whilst I'm at it why on earth would you put a Preston ref in charge of our game, it just leaves them open for criticism. I know he was a replacement but still they could have juggled things with another ref.

Absolutely not. We have never ever been flavour of the month with the EFL.

They will be sending back an email saying it's staying as a red before even loading the video footage up.

The most incompetent footballing association in world football.

The 'offended' Portsmouth player should have been awarded at the Oscars last night. Best actor award.

I hope it is, but have voted no, as we know how the EFL works.

We're talking about the incompetent folk who saw fit to uphold Lavery's red card at Shef United for being punched. I'd be gob smacked if they rescinded it. They'll back their decision to appoint a nobber and probably extend the suspension.

Now that I've seen the full incident of TTV, There was a definite fowl where the Pompey player had our lad in a headlock, which was ignored by the ref. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he played on because the ball was still live. However, the foul should have been called once the advantage had gone and the game taken back, As for leading with his arm, just watch how many players do that, if anything his arm brushed the other player who took full advantage of the situation and should be given a retrospective yellow. As for JR reduce his card to yellow. Hardly dangerous was it?

Doubt the red will be overturned, ref will have seen the bent arm catching Rafferty. If Rafferty had jumped there would have neen a tangle and no arm/face contact. Hi didn't and has nudged Rhodes under the arm and in the back throwing him off balance and causing the contact.

It’s good if it does as obviously gets Rhodes back in play. But that doesn’t compensate for a game with 10 men for the majority of play and one of our best not being on the pitch 😳

Totally agree. A red card actually kills a football match for both teams but more so the supporters.

A red card should be the absolute last resort for gross misconduct on the pitch. This couldn't have been any further from that.

When a player legitimately goes down injured writhing in agony 9 out 10 times there will be physical evidence almost immediately, a broken jaw, fractured cheek bone, busted orbital bone all are followed by bruising and lumps and bumps.
The ref should have waited for the treatment on the pitch was done to assess any facial damage worth him gleefully showing a red card.

No because it’s Blackpool. Stick a Bolton shirt on Rhodes and it’s overturned before he’s managed to turn the shower on.
