Do we love the drama of defeat more than a win?

Take a look at the stats on this site and the most visits it ever had was on 13th February - it was the night we lost 2-0 to Cheltenham Town. Every Doom and Goom slayer was on the site that night - go back and look at the threads.
Now, I will confess I'm not Critchley's biggest fan (even last night I thought his decisions and tactics in the second half weren't what I'd have done, but he got a win and so fair play) but am quite happy that he is our manager and hasn't deserved some of the OTT critcism he's received. It does feel though our fans just a bunch of drama Queens who don't like it when things don't go how they want it to. There are a few Critchley Out protagonists (and we all know who they are - starting polls and threads whenever we lose to suit their agenda) who have gone very quiet of late but then you do wonder where all those 'fans' who heap on as soon as anything isn't going quite as we all want it to and disappear when we're doing well (and these same 'fans' use it as an opportunity to have a pop at the owner as well).
If Stevenage lose (or even draw) tonight, we effectively have an 8 game season and I'd like to think the naysayers might like to join us on the journey!

It's a forum, where you express your opinions.

The world has become sanitised enough without the need to categorise posters as naysayers or otherwise.

We've had some very decent performances and plenty of not so decent performances where we have literally thrown points away.

Yet some how we are still in the mix!

Of course we are going to complain more when we lose because of the manner in which we lose. Not having a right good go at teams like Burton, Cambridge, Port Vale, Stevenage, Cheltenham, Orient, deserves to be questioned. Giving struggling teams too much respect is bordering on cowardice. Look at the struggling teams results after they have beaten us, they carry on losing.

Or should we keep quiet and accept woeful tactics? Glad to see NC might now of seen the light and changed his ways. Play positive football and Neil Critchley will get my 100% support win, lose or draw.

a good question. think it natural that a defeat and poor performance will bring more debate than a win.

I think anger provokes posts more than anything and we had plenty to be angry about. Let’s be honest performances are still not great but Critchball is starting to get results again on the road. It’s still not my cup of tea but the manager has at least shown some very “better late than never” adaptability and common sense.

I think this is the point, the performances against these teams were so bad people couldn't believe it

It is frustration rather than drama, we have thrown away so many soft goals and the quality of the side we should have been vying for the autos
Agree from that point but I genuinely believe there are a few agenda driven posters on here who just want everything their way from the way the club is run to who our manager is and most of the negative threads, which sadly people pile on to, are created by that small group.

Sometimes our build up does, appear slow for a team pushing for wins to capture 6th place. The teams like Lincoln hitting multiple goals are perceived a greater threat because of this.
Personally I have no problem with the system of 3 at the back, but only Casey and Pennington are ok in this system, Eki and Hubbie are decent defenders but passing out of the back in not their strong point. Not a Critchley bash just an observation

I thought that against Northampton Marv was the most composed I've seen him in a long while.
Maybe he's 'getting' the system now, who knows.
Also on Tuesday we moved the ball around a lot quicker.
It helps when you've got the likes of Casey, Coulson, Byers and Gabs in the team who pass the ball well and retain possession 👍🏻

There’s something in that and also the comments that anger provokes the desire to post.

There’s also some posters who bizarrely just go missing when it is going good and don’t post at all. You have to question their support.

If we lose having been out footballed (Peterborough in the EFL thingy) it's a pisser but not the end of the world. But when we've lost without appearing to have a right go (no shots on target) it does spur criticism. When you can't get hold of a game with the system you've adopted or life in general. What do you do mmmmm it's a toughie Ah! you make a change of tack, who'd have thought of that!!!

More Nobbers masquerading as Seasiders and some with more than one username.

They infest the board, talk amongst themselves, some of our fans dive in with their entrenched view of Critchley and the bitchfest begins and on and on it goes. I also think there's a couple of posters drink a bit more when we lose too. No names, no pack drill.

Meanwhile, those of us who see it for what it is are a little more measured and take a longer view.

Have a been disappointed with some of our performances; absolutely, some have been dire - but our home form has been really good - so my frustration isn't about 'shit players' our 'shit manager' - it's not understanding why we are (were?) such a different team away from home.

I've read loads of times on here, variations of "The season is over" after a defeat; it isn't. There's still a long way to go, every result matters but I'll chuck the towel in when we can't get promotion; we aren't there yet.
