Mark Lawrenson speaks out

I played with Lawro at BJFF he was a shy lad who in them days was a skilful right winger dead skinny . He lived in Lytham his Dad was on the board at nobbers which helped him getting signed on as a apprentice. My mate was also a apprentice there the story goes one day he was still a winger but during one game they were getting hammered they put him at the back and the rest is history a lucky break for him
There was a rich vein of talent around that time at BJFF.

Yes there was George Berry top player at Wolves the 2 Betts brothers never showed there talent at Blackpool .Royston Taylor went to nobbers very surprising that but again never kicked on ended up at Barrow. Laurie Walsh Kevin Norton both made it as semi pros in a good standard Northern Premier league in them days 1 step away from football league

Look I hope he isn’t replaced by a person who is not of the same gender, same colour along with the same sexual orientation, we all know what I mean. However how old is he, did someone say 65 for gods sake give another young white male who has played at the highest level, and recently retired whilst being a straight male a chance. Presume it’s asking for too much. Not prejudice myself but please let’s not play the politically correct stance.

Errrrr...Yes 😳......I think, I may know what you mean..
Is it.....You're not really (that) prejudice.....as it's OK for a bit of part time racism, sexism & homophobia as it makes MOTD more watchable?
Maybe you struggle to understand footballers...... if they have a slight tan?
Maybe you don't talk to women....?
They still all struggle to understand the offside rule, because they are too busy watching strictly come dancing, doing housework and popping out another 4 sprogs this month?

And I'm not trying to be politically correct here........but you wont suddenly want to have bum love, if the presenter of MOTD is gay?.....
You are aware that you cant catch homosexuality off the TV.........??
You can catch it, if you don't wash your hands after having a pee in a public urinal......FACT
You will suddenly support Arsenal, take great pleasure from West End Musicals, interior design & writing total shit on obscure football forums

So after your last comment, why not have a word with your other brain cell......it must be so lonely in there, wandering around on it's own........

I lived on Stainforth Ave and George Berry lived on Rossington Ave across from the junction. I was a couple of years younger than him (64 now). Naturally we all played street football then and he took me to Bispham Juniors football practice. I wasn’t old enough for the Juniors, but they had an U12(?) team Bispham Rebels which I then played for and then on the the Juniors when I was old enough.
I remember all those names you quoted, most if not all were at Montgomery. As a young boy I was in awe of them … I learned a lot watching them play.

Just because he says it’s true. Nothing to do with being boring and crap? The current crop of analysts in the studio are much better and actually understand the game. Life moves on and that dog has his day.

He’s claiming he’s been sacked by the BBC because of its woke agenda and that he’s a 65 yr old white male.
I was always under the impression that the scruffy, miserable Nobber ticked one box.
His days were numbered after the Lars and Sven Bender comment. His quote ' it's not often you get two benders in the same team. Thought it was quite amusing.

He's had his merment and is bitter about it, he has ridden the gravy train for far too long and added very little. I don't really care who is a pundit as long as they have a decent understanding of the modern game, can speak eloquently and is fair with their opinions. Which probably rules out most of the current crop!

He's a miserable git and always was

There comes a time in most people's working life when one hands over the baton. You can accept it and move on or dig yourself a rut .

Lawrenson was very lucky to get the gig for as long as he did.

He particularly pissed me off during international tournaments when he came across as if it was such a hardship to have to go overseas to watch football. Compare to Ally McCoist who came across as loving being there.

I can’t think offhand of a particularly insightful piece of analysis he ever did. I certainly can’t remember him ever being remotely funny.

In summary just a miserable Nobber **

And aren't the screeching clueless women coms all the woke TV stations are putting on a pleasure to listen to .Loads of people turning off because it .Of course the indoctrinated virtue signallers think it's wonderfull.despite the vast majority being sick of it .I have the sound off or find a stream with decent coms
