What Success have the Nobbers achieved let's say over the last 20 Years Sweet FA diddly squat
I've lost count of the Failed play-off finals they have Lost off hand is it played 10 Won 1 ?

The last 2 home league games against them will live long in the memory, was great to see the knobbers wilt in the melee of noise and passion.

They got one of the scores wrong, an article that mentions the value of Dom Thompson isn't going to gain much respect from anyone.

5.2 million for Woodman... get him sold ASAP.

What a shock, club in the championship has more valuable players than a club in league 1. Quelle surprised.

What a waste of everybody's time that was.

Going back all the way to before the titanic sunk to bump up the record, well done.

The last 50 years or so are pretty even.

The years you cheated with the invincibles obviously set the club up going forward. History is history but the game wasn't remotely the same and it would be hard to overturn the record unless there was complete dominance for decades.

But no one really cares, for most it's about what people have lived through.

I really don't care to even look, I've already said it's not a shock that a team in the championship has a squad valued higher than one in league 1, would be weird if they didn't. I'm sure they would be some in the squad though as value is linked to contract time.

Then again it wouldn’t be the first time on here. I remember certain poster claiming Maxwell was a better keeper than Woodman 🤦🏻‍♂️.

The thing is if we had the better record based on a bunch of games played with a pigs bladder, whilst players wore top hats and insisted on bragging about it, when the last 50 or so years record is fairly even, I'd say come on guys ffs it's getting embarrassing now.

If the record was far superior in the modern era then fair enough, it's isn't.

Similar with attendances, there wasn't much bragging when we had similar crowds in the championship but only when they did a super cheap deal suddenly the bragging begun.

Despite many saying they probably do get a small amount more on average under similar circumstances and more for one off games, especiallygoven the natureof Blackpool and its exiles, we are behind as a club down it the unique bad years we've had. It's not rocket science.

A real far bigger club would be getting significantly bigger crowds without going mega cheap, or getting far more at those cheap prices. All the arguing often over 10% here or there is a bit sad.

We've not set the world on fire this season and charged basically the same as last season for ST. With a buzz, a really cheap price and a season flying near the top we could have had 11-12k home fans in league 1.

I had to google 'woodman'. I see he plays as a goalkeeper for efl championship club Preston. Is he any good?

The forever in our shadow is nonesense both ways really, was spouted from your side often, yet there was nothing to be in the shadow of really, as you even admit to yourselves you've done nowt for decades. There's not a huge difference in size of club under similar conditions despite some of the claims. He's probably on about the prem but IMO a bit daft bragging now when we're below and let's face it, it was 1 season, great memories though, the best trip.

Count yourselves lucky you've had a billionaire owner to push you way above where you should be.

There’s not a lot between us and it hasn’t ever really been any different, other than when you had your season in the prem, then again when you were down in league 2.

I believe it was SeasiderKurt. I can only think he’s related to Maxwell in some way.

I think many went off him last season eventually when goals were going straight through him and he was pointing and shouting at everyone.

As for attendances there are some genuine factors, Blackpool is a holiday town with loads to do and lots of hospitality jobs, not well off, many people over the years have moved away, not happening as much now but still has an impact. The club had many years going nowhere in the lower league's in a rust bucket of a ground with zero ambition, then suddenly a meteoric rise to the top and back down nearly as fast, culminating in a unique situation equivalent to winning the lottery and still living in a caravan, no legacy, broken promises and then suing fans meant the boycott happened and that was damaging too for the fanbase.

We did come back fairly well but some people never returned, the 2 years in the championship helped and we came down bigger in league 1 than ever before, but there's still far more to do.

When we got promoted it was only 4k fans allowed to the playoff game and Wembley, which as we all know is when the casuals jump aboard and when you win in those games some are likely to return, we missed that. I won't say its good we went down, but as long as we do bounce back at some point soon, with fans in attendance we'll benefit next time. Promotion is probably the best time to grow the fanbase and is unlikely to happen in the championship so another Wembley win would be massive.

Relegation isn't great, however you don't get to have the best playoff record EVER without it.
 
Hate to say it but they are basically everything we are hoping we could one day be.

Solidified in the championship.
4 sided stadium with ample capacity and facilities.
Top 2 tier worthy training ground.

If Simon Sadler achieves all of his objectives for the club over the next decade we may be where they are now.

On the plus side, from our perspective, all of the above is underpinned by an unsustainable level of investment which is dependent on one family, if they ever chose to stop losing tens of millions a year they'd be where we are. On an equal footing there isn't much between the clubs, as history shows.

Always find these sort of threads really boring, shouldn't have looked at it but I had a few minutes on my hands.
Fact is they are currently a division higher and they are good at staying in the championship.
We are a division lower and bounce around all over the divisions.
If they were a journey it would be a coned up endless motorway through the dullest bits of England with your speed restricted to 50, you're moving in the right direction but its uneventful.
Whereas we would be a European road trip where your satnav has packed in and you are meandering down the back roads through forests, villages and mountains occasionally having a bit of time in a fantastic city.
I know which sort of trip I prefer but it wouldn't be for everyone.
