Do any of the players or management team actually live in Blackpool?

Possibly not and probably the reason for our half hearted appearances in local derbies because they really haven’t got a clue what it means to us. Over the last 3 years we have lost 1-0 from memory with bottle job performances at Preston twice, Blackburn, Bolton and Wigan twice including yesterday…….. about time these overpaid tossers felt our pain 😡😡

If they’d gone off the overall ‘atmosphere’ at the game yesterday, then they would probably concluded it didn’t really mean a great deal to either side really.

I once very nearly got into a fight with Steve Banks for questioning their commitment after a Derby game. He seemed pretty fucked off with the suggestion to be fair, which I was quite impressed by.

Its been said before, but maybe we do have a few too many wet lettuces at times and maybe they don’t always show the level of passion that we’d like.

I raised this exact point previously. Remember Maxwell living in Wrea Green was as close as we got & apparently Gabriel was Preston based 🙄.
Don't really think spending a few nights in the BFC hotel really counts.

So Bfister, you have form for confronting players....

A local Barista (not Barrister) informed me only yesterday that you were seen verbally winding up one of our senior Pro's....

Poor form! 😜

I don't think what team you are, local derby's are definitely not the same today as they where in 60s 70s 80s, they seem to be very lack lustre.

Unhinged.

I doubt many footballers of most clubs don’t actually live in the place where their club is. Man Cot/Itd players live in places like Prestbury and Alderley Edge.

Why's that?

Because a supporter is questioning the commitment and passion of our players.
You may have to look in the mirror to find someone unhinged commenting like that
Question what is happening on the pitch, in training, whatever. But where the players live?

If to get results, you think our players should live in FY4/FY1... well I guess we'll be doing our scouting on a Sunday down at Common Edge from now on.

Moronic.

Why shouldn't they live in the area?
A good majority of the 2010 promoted squad lived here.
They got what it meant to the supporters.

But I suppose you're right.
Let's have players travelling into training and match days on congested motorways.
I'm sure you were fresh as a daisy after getting home from Wigan yesterday.

And using words like moronic and unhinged at the end of your posts shows you're not a very nice person but I'm prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt 😉

I'm pretty sure Sadler said he wanted all players and coaching staff to live within an hour of Blackpool when he took over.

It is better if they have some connection to the area imo.

Tend to agree with O/ P on this. It's not a good look and especially the manager living so far away, Can't be much good for you travelling up and down congested motorways and it just seems a lack of commitment. Probably wouldn't be mentioned though if the results were right.

Think the 2010 team pretty much all had FY postcodes, not sure why that happened can't imagine the Oystons insisting on it.
Thing is if we do insist on it then it will be just that bit harder to complete some transfers.

I live a couple of doors away from a PNE player and the temptation to 'accidentally' leave garden rakes on the pavement, for when he walks past, is ever so tempting...

Did you mean reside or breathe?

I suspect the answer to both is no ;)

Unhinged and moronic? Some of us feel the passion and pride of supporting our local club, wet wipes like you obviously don’t 🙄

I’ve walked from the Armfield club to the car several times with The Stockport One after a game and we have both commented on players in their big 4x4s speeding as fast as they can away from the ground as though they can’t wait to get away. Never mind Simon Sadler saying that they should live within an hour of the ground, they should be made to live within 5 miles in my opinion so they can see what a crap, lacklustre defeat means to the people who pay their wages

A lot of league / championship players are around Buckshaw. It’s an easy location to get to a lot of teams. I can completely understand not wanting to live on the Gold Coast unless you think you’re going to stick around, but a football can soon fall out of favour and be sent off on loan.

If you live in Blackpool or not you should be self motivated, especially when you have a big away following. I would bust a gut if only for my win bonus.

Sure. You're a real fan -- who like all the others after a defeat are searching for any stick to beat the players with. Sad.

Did you go yesterday and if so did you see anything remotely to get behind. First 20 minutes we were loud and proud, it was downhill from there. Passion works both ways and the stimulus should come from the pitch. It's sadly lacking.

If we start insisting players live too locally, we’ll just end up limiting the players who are willing to come and ultimately deteriorating the side.

If we want them to understand what it means, then we need to show some passion from the stands.
So now it’s the fans fault for not showing enough passion…… you get worse mate 😂😂

Don't most of them have the fy8 postcode?

I saw 11 Players in Tangerine what more do you need ?

It’s a football game, not Dancing on Ice..
No point in telling me I have no influence on the way we play. I'd say we were nearer to Dancing on Ice than Gladiators yesterday.
It was pants and eventually you get fed up of oh oh oh oh and ah ha ing if the players don't give you something back.

It’s a long time since Celtic won the European Cup and insisted players lived in Glasgow. Or so I was brought up to believe.

The current bunch are weak both mentally and physically.

What do you mean the manager living so far away ?
I thought NC lived near Warrington it’s only an hour away !
Jerry Yates lived in Knutsford .
Kevin Phillips lived in Birmingham !!!!!!!!
Did alright .

I have no idea where they live but after a great long day drinking and having a laugh in Wigan only to be disrupted by two hours of turgid “entertainment “i went home at 9.30, my lad went to Lyham and spoke to Morgan , Byers and Carey in Marvin’s so I assume they must be based locally,or getting a lift home from the goal machine ( if he’s got his licence back) they were all drinking but obviously not excessively, Carey was funny and the friendliest apparently
