Famous Fans seen at games

Brother was at the Wales game last night and got a selfie with Rob Brydon.
Just got me thinking about famous people you've seen at games?

Sadly saw half the Eastenders cast supporting West Ham at the Wembley Play Off Final!

They go well together.

The set of c***s hadn’t been to Wembley (old or new) since 1980.

I got called prior to the game by a WHU fan colleague at work in London (who always was a prick) to see if I would buy him and his son tickets in the Blackpool section. I refused.

He seemed to take offence at this as on the Monday after he sent an email out revelling in the victory and showing a tatty Blackpool flag.

No one was surprised at this as he always was a total arse.

I know we've listed a few Pool celebs over the years, the only one I recall actually seeing was the great Bill Beaumont.

Once went to a Manc derby with my City supporting friend. Kevin Kennedy took his seat in the ground to a chorus of "Curly Watts is a City fan".

Not at a game, but I saw Bobby Moore at a Steve Winwood gig at The Royal Albert Hall. Stood within 2 yards of him at one point.

He should have just phoned the club and bypassed you. Karl would have sorted him out!

I went to a Sheffield Utd v Man City match, where they started chanting ‘stand up if you’re curly watts’. A sheepish looking Kevin Kennedy stood up in the middle of the away section

Bill was a member of our board under the Scum

Jesus Christ Superstar actor Robert Powell (stood next to me in the toilets at Old Trafford!), Red Dwarf`s Craig Charles and presenter Colin Murray at Cardiff, and have sat next to Phil Redmond (creator of Brookside tv soap) at a game a long time ago...

stood directly behind that blonde ex weather bird, Ulrika Jonsson at an England game in Marseille.

Yes. He was there for the Portsmouth game. A real football man is Graham. Not afraid to go to non-league games and stand on the terraces. I believe he once referreed a Sunday Morning girls game when the ref didn't turn up. Ex Baines lad I believe.
He watched me play once when we were playing Baines Old Boys on Highcross Rd.

Whilst working in that-there Lahndon around 1990 I was given corporate tickets to a Spurs cup-tie vs Hartlepool.

I think Spurs won 5-0, with 4 by Gascoigne & 1 by Lineker (If memory serves…🤷).

All else pales by comparison, of course, to realising I was seated next to Inspector Brownlow of The Bill….

Used to see one of the dealers from Dickinson real deal making his way into the ground quite often, don’t know his name mind!

Freddie Starr was a regular at Bloomfield Road when ever he was appearing in Blackpool. Saw him plenty of times at the tea cabin next to the old supporters club behind the west stand

Here's a thing.

At Shrewsbury there were a very well dressed couple in the away end. It felt to me as if they had the vibe of being notable people. I didn't recognise them though.

They were dressed in that rather tailored look that defines really expensive clothing and both wore immaculate tangerine and white bar scarves. He had a quality brolly with him. I assume the stewards went all defferent when they strolled up and let him in.

If it was you, kudos for being so sartorially notable.

If it was someone famous or successful, who was it?

I've said this story before on here but Gary Neville sat a few seats from me amongst the Blackpool fans at Port Vale away in the early 00s to watch his ex United teammate Ben Thornley. He was in his United and England pomp at the time so it was quite the spectacle.

Yes ex Baines, qualified ref, he used to referee occasionally at our matches at Clifton Casuals in Lytham. Played golf to 4 handicap back in the “old days”
Bispham boy, thought he lived near Peterborough now but maybe he’s moved back to Blackpool

Ken Barlow( Bill Roache) at 2007 Play Final v Yeovil.
Sat in front of another Corrie actor supporting Sheffield Wednesday in Cup game around 2012.

That was TAM and BFC3
I told them they were overdressed for a footy match
